Cincinnati Playhouse Extends TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL

Due to continued demand for tickets, the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park has added a second extension to its popular production of TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL, which celebrates Cincinnati's legendary 'girl singer.' The show, originally set to close on Dec. 28 and then extended through Jan. 4, now will run through Jan. 11, 2015.

Playhouse in the Park brings the 'Girl Singer' home this holiday season with Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical. The show takes the audience on a journey from 'Rosie's' childhood to fame, to mental breakdown, to her comeback career; all through therapy sessions during which we are regaled with some of her most well known songs.

At a recent event for donors, subscribers, business partners and community leaders held at the new Manchester Community Library, Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler announced a season that offers something for everyone.

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company lands another coup, bringing the 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Play, Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, to area audiences beginning July 17. Dubbed "deliriously funny" by the New York Times, the comedy is becoming the most-produced play across the country following its celebrated Broadway run.

Kicking off the Cabaret season at FST is THE PRIMA DONNETTES, developed by FST Artistic Director Richard Hopkins and Jim Prosser. It will open in Florida Studio Theatre's John C. Written more than half a century ago, Harper Lee's novel remains a beloved bestseller and is quite possibly one of the most influential novels of the 20th Century. Compassionate and deeply moving, the American masterpiece portraying racial injustice in the deep south will grace the Weston Playhouse stage for the first time.
