Stephen Schwartz's WORKING and More Set for 59E59 Theaters' 2012 Fall Season

59E59 Theaters has announced the roster of shows for the Fall 2012 Season, including the New York premiere revival of Stephen Schwartz' WORKING, beginning Dec. 1, 2012. This is the newly revised, critically acclaimed version of WORKING that recently had a successful run at the Broadway Playhouse in Chicago, after premiering at the Asolo in Sarasota and Old Globe in San Diego.

Masterworks Broadway to Continue Rare and Forgotten Cast Albums Series with Stephen Schwartz's WORKING, Irving Berlin's CALL ME MADAM & Oscar Hammerstein II's DESERT SONG

Masterworks Broadway continues to make good on its promise to open its vaults with more classic cast recordings previously unavailable in the CD era. Working (1978 Original Broadway Cast), Call Me Madam (Dinah Shore and the Original Broadway Company, 1950) and Desert Song (1959 Studio Cast) will be available as downloads through all major digital service providers and as disc-on-demand with the original cover art, via Arkivmusic.com and Amazon.com.

2012-2013 Tony Awards Nominating Committee Revealed

The Tony Awards Nominating Committee is a rotating group of up to 35 theatre professionals selected by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. Nominators serve for overlapping three-year terms. They are asked to see every new Broadway production and then meet each year shortly after the Tony eligibility deadline. They determine the nominations based on secret ballots supervised by an accounting firm. The results are announced early the following morning.

MY OHIO, RIO, et al. Included in NYMF's 2012 Next Link Project

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2012 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Ten of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.

WORKING Announces Final Weeks In Chicago

WORKING will close on June 5, 2011 at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut St., Chicago). WORKING opened March 2, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews and has had more than 100 standing ovations from delighted audiences.
