Judith Sloan to Bring YO MISS! to La MaMa, 3/4-13

Judith Sloan is a masterful actor/dialectition and a sublime mixologist of sound. She blends both gifts in her newest play, 'YO MISS!,' in which she channels her own family's traumas through the experiences of immigrant and minority teens whom she has taught in arts programs over the last two decades.

BWW Review: WORKING Gets the Job Done

This past weekend at South Bend's Clay High School, the musical Working by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso, based on the best-selling book of interviews with America's work force by Studs Terkel, took to the stage for three performances and absolutely earned their standing ovations! Comprised of dozens of students (and some teachers!) this high school's performance set an impressive tone for not only their student's abilities, but anybody who was involved with such an incredible show.

CHARM, Northlight's World Premiere by Philip Dawkins, Begins Tonight at Steppenwolf Garage

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces the World Premiere of CHARM by Philip Dawkins. Directed by BJ Jones, CHARM was developed through Northlight's Interplay Series and will be presented in Steppenwolf's Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted, from tonight, October 14, through November 8, 2015.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City PREMIERE Rare Czech Opera Dvorak's Rusalka

Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 58th season with a Lyric Opera Premiere production of Anton Dvo?ák's rarely performed opera Rusalka, November 7, 11, 13 and 15  at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The production will be sung in Czech with English titles. This is not only the first Dvo?ák opera produced by the Lyric Opera of Kansas City but the first Czech opera for the Company and Kansas City audiences.The production, directed by Academy-Award winning director Eric Simonson, will feature members of the Kansas City Symphony under the baton of Alexander Polianichko and a unique partnership with members of the Kansas City Ballet. One of the highlights of this lush production will be the spectacular lighting and video projections. 

Showtunes Theatre Company Welcomes New Artistic Director

Seattle-based actor and director Matt Wolfe recently took the reigns as artistic director for SHOWTUNES Theatre Company. His first full day of work was Monday October 5, 2015 and he is knee-deep in preparations for the start of the expanded three-show 2015-2016 Season. On December 5th The Washingtonians will kick things off by performing Songs We Know; it will be their first concert after a 12-year hiatus and more than 65 chorus members are expected to participate.

Harrison and Haig Join Parker and Thompson In Savoy's GUYS AND DOLLS!

Full casting is announced for the highly acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre revival of Guys and Dolls, which is at the New Alexandra Theatre from Tues 24 November to Sat 5 December 2015, prior to a strictly limited run at the Savoy Theatre in the West End.

Actors Co-op Opens Stephen Schwartz's THE BAKER'S WIFE Tonight

Actors Co-op (Ovation Award-Winner 2015 Best Intimate Theatre Musical for 110 in the Shade) is thrilled to announce the first show in its 2015-2016 season (and 24th year of producing theatrical excellence in Los Angeles!) with THE BAKER'S WIFE, book by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba), music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell), musical direction by Jake Anthony, choreography by Julie Hall, produced by Kimi Walker and directed by Ovation Award-winner Richard Israel (110 in the Shade, Floyd Collins).
