California Repertory Company continues its 30th Season with the spectacle of The Funfair by Tony award-winning playwright Simon Stephens. In a world of brutality and banality audiences are immersed into the Funfair where the fun feels free. Power plays fueled by misogyny and capitalism push lovers Cash and Caroline onto an emotional high wire without a net. The United States premiere of The Funfair opens November 2nd in the Studio Theatre.
Deya Danielle Drake's dark comedy, ESCAPE, opened at The New York International Fringe Festival on October 20. ESCAPE plays for two more performances on Friday, October 26 @ 4:30 pm and Saturday, October 27 @ 9:30 pm. The limited run is directed by Lynnsey Ooten.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) opens its 45th Winter Mainstage Season with the four-time Tony Award-winning musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Called 'A true tour de force' by The New York Times, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder follows Monty Navarro, a lowly born Englishman who suddenly discovers he is eighth in succession to become the Earl of Highurst, and is determined to gain the title...by any means necessary. This critically-acclaimed, knock 'em dead musical, with Book and Lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and Music and Lyrics by Steve Lutvak, will run starting November 7 in FST's Gompertz Theatre.
FUN HOME is a true story about real people, and Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault's production at SpeakEasy Stage Company, the Boston regional premiere of the 2015 Tony Award-winning musical, will make a believer out of anyone who sets foot in the Roberts Studio Theatre. Based on Alison Bechdel's memoir/graphic novel of the same name, the groundbreaking musical tells the story of the cartoonist's complicated family, looking back at her childhood and adolescence with Alison at three different ages as our guide. It is a memory play, a coming out story, a tragedy, and a comedy. Above all else, it is one of the highest points in a Boston theater season that has already had some very high points.

Tickets are $15 and you must be 21 to enter the event. Doors will open at 6 pm; a variety of Two Roads beers will be available for purchase. Five area jam bands, Cousin Fungus, Flipper Dave, The HippoCampus, Soul Case and No Mind, will compete for the first place prize. The winning band will play at the Annual Road Jam Music Festival, as well as win a cash prize, tickets for the Jam Fest, swag bags and beer.

San Diego Repertory Theatre announced today the cast and creative team for the third production in their 43rd season, Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2. Directing this production is San Diego REP Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse. Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2 debuted on Broadway in 2017 where it received eight Tony Award nominations. Performances run November 21 - December 16, 2018, at the Lyceum Stage Theatre. Tickets start at $25 and are currently on sale to the general public. Previews run November 21 - 27, 2018.
