The 2018-19 season of The Met: Live in HD will continue at the Warner Theatre on October 20 with Saint-Saëns's biblical epic SAMSON ET DALILA at 12:55 pm in the Nancy Marine Studio.

The 2018-19 season is sponsored by Viron Rondo Osteria. A complimentary 45 minute pre-opera lecture by Nunzio DeFilippis will be offered in the Studio Theatre Lobby two hours before the broadcast, sponsored by Mitchell Auto Group.

When mezzo-soprano El?na Garan?a and tenor Roberto Alagna joined forces for a new production of Carmen at the Met, the results were electrifying. Now, this star duo reunites for another sensual French opera in the title roles of Saint-Saëns's SAMSON ET DALILA. Darko Tresnjak, who won a Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical in 2014 for A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, makes his Met debut directing a vivid, seductive staging, featuring a monumental setting for the last-act Temple of Dagon, where the hero crushes his Philistine enemies. Sir Mark Elder conducts the first new Met production of the work in 20 years.
