The University of New Mexico's Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to announce the world premiere 1n2ian ('Indian') by Jay B. Muskett, a 3rd year student in UNM's award winning MFA in Dramatic Writing Program. 1n2ian, directed by Gleason Bauer, will be presented as part of the 2019 Linnell Festival of New Plays, with performances April 11 through 14, 2019 in Rodey Theatre on UNM's Main Campus. This year's Festival also includes directed readings of new works by 2nd year MFA playwrights Aniello Fontano and Nelle Tankus as well as a reading by 1st year MFA playwright Shannon Flynn. A special addition the year will be a fully staged new play for young audiences, (Don't You) Forget About Me, created in collaboration with DATA High School.

Acclaimed pianist Winston Choi returns to the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) for two concerts with New Philharmonic under the baton of Maestro Kirk Muspratt, Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. The program will include Charles-Camille Saint-Saens' Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, featuring Choi, and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27. The program will open with New Philharmonic sharing the stage with members from the Glenbard West High School Honors Symphony Orchestra for a side by side performance of the third movement of George Bizet's "Allegro Vivace," conducted by New Philharmonic Associate Conductor Ben Nadel. A free MAC Chat will take place one hour prior to each performance.

Inspired by the world-renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers, this uplifting new work chronicles the bold African American ensemble as they travel the world, captivating kings, queens and audiences with hymns and spiritual songs supported by their rich voices. Florida Studio Theatre announces that, in association with the National New Play Network (NNPN), it will produce and host the NNPN Women in Playwriting Festival this spring. Part of FST's Sarasota Festival of New Plays, this three-week Festival will take place throughout April and May, with staged readings of the featured plays in FST's Keating Theatre on April 26, May 3, and May 10, and in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre on April 24.
