It's almost October, which means it's almost time for The New Yorker's annual Festival. For it's 15th season, this year's festival is 'a three-day celebration that will once again bring together an esteemed and exciting group of writers, thinkers, artists, and other luminaries from a wide range of fields including film, music, television, politics, food, sports, literature, and technology.'

THE LAST SHIP - the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey - begins previews tonight, September 29 on Broadway, prior to opening night on October 26.

GRAMMY Award-winning band Kings Of Leon recently announced stops for the third leg of its 2014 MECHANICAL BULL TOUR which includes a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena tonight, Sept. 27.

Country music star Carrie Underwood will be among the entertainers performing Saturday at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary this season, Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) turned to works that have been favorites among its musicians and audiences as the starting point for its Chamber Music Series programs. For the season-opening concerts in late October at The Morgan Library & Museum and Brooklyn Museum, the genesis of the program was the Schubert Octet, a work beloved and frequently performed by St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble throughout its history.

Producers Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker announceD that THE LAST SHIP will offer a limited number of tickets for each performance to be sold by lottery. Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $30 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Each person drawn may purchase up to two tickets. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Tickets must be purchased in cash. Tickets are subject to availability.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing, UK collection society PRS for Music and German society GEMA have today announced that they have entered into a new agreement to administer licences for Sony/ATV and EMI's pan-European digital rights for Anglo-American repertoire.

Theo Ubique artistic director Fred Anzevino and musical director Jeremy Ramey, who teamed up for the company's Jeff-award Best Musical winner The Light in the Piazza as well as Aspects of Love and Master Class, are collaborating on this collection of songs by the German born classical composer-turned-Broadway-songsmith Kurt Weill. Ramey is providing exciting new arrangements as well as musical direction. Christie Kerr is also on the team as choreographer for the cabaret to be performed at the No Exit Cafe, 6970 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago, from tonight, September 19 to October 19, 2014.
