Maureen McGovern to Appear with American A Cappella this September

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts presents The Tierney Sutton Band

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College will open its 2017-18 Kumble Theater season with eight-time GRAMMY®-nominated jazz artist Tierney Sutton. Praised by The New York Times as 'a pure jazz spirit,' Ms. Sutton and her band will perform their 2017 GRAMMY® Award-nominated project The Sting Variations. AZ Country Star To Open for Wynonna Judd & The Big Noise Sunday in Tucson

Shari Rowe Turns Up Volume For Wynonna & The Big Noise Arizona country music artist Shari Rowe is set to open for spit-fire legend, Wynonna & The Big Noise, lighting the ignition that Judd & the Noise are sure to burst.  As part of the Roots & Revival Tour, the show will take place this Sunday, August 13 at The Fox Theatre in Tucson, AZ.  Shari Rowe sets the stage at 7:00pm with Wynonna & The Big Noise cranking up the volume later in the evening. 

National Black Theatre's 49th Season Heads 'Black to the Future'

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre's 49th season cedes the floor to modern-day griots with gripping, one-person tales capturing the trauma and triumph of a people. In a nod to the African tradition of the storyteller and historian who inspires and uplifts, the season is anchored by two one-person shows, The Peculiar Patriot, by Liza Jessie Peterson, a coproduction with Hi-ARTS, and Sancho by Paterson Joseph, a coproduction with Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) and Pemberley Productions. Themed "Black to the Future," the 49th season-which includes workshop productions by resident playwrights-seeks to take stock of the present and look to the past to predict and help shape a brighter future for Black people.
