The Public Theater previously announced that, for the first and only time, Sting will perform songs from his new album, The Last Ship, for 10 concerts to benefit The Public Theater in their intimate, 260-seat Anspacher Theater from tonight, September 25 - October 9. An evening of music and storytelling with one of the world's most prolific artists, these performances will offer unique insight into the creative process of both his new album, released yesterday, September 24, and his forthcoming play of the same name, premiering in 2014. All proceeds benefit The Public Theater and are tax deductible.

The Public will offer a limited number of FREE tickets via a lottery system for AN EVENING WITH STING, September 25 through October 9 at 8:00 p.m., in The Public's intimate 260-seat Anspacher Theater.

Elvis Costello embarks on SOLO East Coast U.S. Tour with Philadelphia Stop at Merriam Theater on Sunday, November 10 at 8 p.m. Costello's performance includes new work from Wise Up Ghost (to be released September 17, Blue Note Records), the collaborative album of Costello and The Roots, produced by longtime Roots associate Steven Mandel along with Costello and ?uestlove. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, August 9th at 10 a.m.

Former rocker Stewart Copeland delves into the twisted psyche of Edgar Allan Poe's manic murderer in the US premiere of Tell-Tale Heart and Bang on a Can composer, Michael Gordon, observes the anguished spirit of a brilliant artist in the West Coast stage premiere of Van Gogh. Featuring music at the edge of rock, jazz and classical modernism, this double bill of delusion and illusion, paranoia and inspiration begins tonight, May 11 and continues on May 18 and 19, 2013 at theEXPO Art Center, 4321 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA.

Joining the Orchestra for this work will be the Dallas-based world percussion ensemble D'Drum, in their Cleveland Orchestra debut. Gamelan D'Drum is scored for symphony orchestra and more than 70 world percussion instruments.
