December 22, 2015 – Richmond, Virginia Join the Richmond Symphony and Music Director Steven Smith on Sunday, January 17 at 3pm for Tchaikovsky: Variations on a Rococo Theme. This concert is part of the Metro Collection Series and will be held in the Blackwell Auditorium on the beautiful campus of Randolph-Macon College. December 15, 2015 – Richmond, Virginia Join the Richmond Symphony, Music Director Steven Smith, and members from the Virginia Opera Herndon Foundation Emerging Artists Program for a special concert in the style of a Viennese New Year on Saturday, January 9 at 8pm and Sunday, January 10 at 3pm. A New Year in Vienna is a celebration filled with selected works including waltzes, polkas, and arias by Johann Strauss Jr., Franz Lehár, and Richard Strauss. The Richmond Symphony and Music Director Steven Smith are pleased to announce the appointment of Chia-Hsuan Lin as Associate Conductor. Ms. Lin began her first season as Assistant Conductor with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in fall 2014, and recently conducted the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra as one of three young talents chosen for the Emerging Conductor Program. She was also a semi-finalist in the 2013 Jeunesses Musicales International Conducting Competition.
