Macha Monkey will present the northwest premiere of Stephanie Timm's Sweet Nothing, a (grim) fairytale at Annex Theatre's space beginning this month.

The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, will produce four works, including one world premiere and one Pittsburgh premiere, in the 2012 - 2013 season, which opens Sept. 7, 2012 and runs through April 6, 2013 at the Pittsburgh Playhouse.

A. D. Players has announced its 2012-2013 season, opening with the Houston professional premiere of Steven Dietz's award winning play, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, and followed by the Houston premiere of The First Church of Texaco by Andrew William Librizzi and the Southwest Premiere of Malcolm and Teresa by Cathal Gallagher. These productions are complemented by sequels to audience favorites, Sanders Family Christmas, written by Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Bailey with musical arrangements by John Foley and Gary Fagin, and Anne of Avonlea by Jeannette Carlisle.

SITTERS Studio Productions produces the NYC premiere of 'HELP WANTED: PIRATES' at the MAGNET THEATRE starting tonight, May 19th. The production, with book and lyrics by Chris WidneY and music by J. SEBASTIAN FABAL, is a new musical for children performed by adults. This interactive children's musical is directed by MARY Catherine Burke, choreographed by JEN LITTLEFIELD with musical direction by Andrew Wheeler.

Tennessee Repertory Theatre has announced its schedule for the Martha R. Ingram New Works Festival. The festival will be held May 30 - June 9 and will feature staged readings of new plays from four regional playwrights as well as nationally-renowned playwright Steven Dietz. Dietz is this year's recipient of the Ingram New Works Fellowship.

(Note that this replaces the play that was originally announced for this time slot, Playing Sinatra). Dietz is one of the most prolific, versatile and widely produced playwrights in the country. Lonely Planet was written in 1994 and is considered a second generation AIDS play although the disease is never named. Dietz uses his obsession with maps and his connection with Ionesco's The Chairs to write a play about friendship in the dawn of the AIDS crisis. The play won the PEN-USA Award for Drama.

Nashville Children's Theatre will launch its 81st season with Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure-a full-length play by Steven Dietz, one of America's top contemporary playwrights-running September 13-October 7 at the theater.

CRE Outreach's Theatre by the Blind presents Steven Dietz's Private Eyes, a multi-layered comedy of suspicion. The play is performed by a cast of blind actors, directed by Greg Shane. Private Eyes runs through April 8, 2012 at the Promenade Playhouse in Santa Monica, California.

The Emergent Arts Theatre Company will present its first full season of plays this year, starting with Neil Simon‘s The Odd Couple May 24-27 at the Arthur Miller Theatre, 1226 Murfin, in the Walgreen Drama Center, Ann Arbor, MI. This first production will feature Jon Elliott and Steve Elliott in the lead roles of Oscar and Felix, with direction by Tim Henning.
