Actors' Playhouse is the first regional theatre in South Florida to produce the show following its long Broadway run and National Tour. Becky's New Car, by Steven Dietz, opened Friday, September 16th on the Mud Creek Barn stage. In this hilarious comedy, Dietz takes you on a ride through the mid-life crisis of an everyday woman as she tries to find a way out of her boring housework, boring job, boring everything! The play is a touching romantic comedy about middled-aged Becky Foster (Forba Shepherd), her roofer husband Joe (Ken Delp) and their matriculating son Chris (Dustin Van Treese). Becky looks for change on the horizon when you also meet the others in her road of life, Steve (Paul Sommer), Walter Flood (Collin Moore), Kensington (Heather Kroetz) and Ginger (Judy McGroarty)-- each of whom evoke the laughter of theater patrons.

Circle Theatre's 30th Anniversary Season continues with Becky's New Car, a new play by renowned playwright Steven Dietz. When Becky's New Car first premiered in 2008, Variety claimed that it 'takes the audience on a smart, comic cruise through the perils of middle-aged longing and regret.' In 2009, it was one of six finalists for the prestigious Steinberg New Play Award given by the American Theatre Critics Association. Preview performances are Thursday, July 28; Friday, July 29; and Saturday, July 30 (matinee). The production officially opens Saturday evening, July 30, at 8:00pm, followed by a post-show party with the cast and crew.
