The Muny announced today the complete cast for its production of Young Frankenstein directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, choreographed by Josh Rhodes and music directed by Charlie Alterman.
The Encores! production of Do I Hear a Waltz?, the romantic, rarely-seen 1965 musical that marked the only collaboration of Richard Rodgers and Stephen Sondheim, just conluded its seven performance run over the weekend. It starred Claybourne Elder, Melissa Errico, Sarah Hunt, Zachary Infante, Cass Morgan, Richard Poe, Michael Rosen, Sarah Stiles, and Richard Troxell.
MasterVoices raised more than $220,000 to fund the company's Artistic and Education Programs at its 2016 Spring Benefit which featured Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell and Nahum Tate starring Kelli O'Hara, Victoria Clark, Elliot Madore, Anna Christy, and Sarah Mesko, with a World Premiere prologue by Michael John LaChiusa, directed and choreographed by Doug Varone, and conducted by Ted Sperling at Le Parker Meridien and New York City Center on April 28, 2016. The Town Hall presented From Moses to Mostel: A History of The Jews (According to Musical Theater), a premiere chronological history of the Jewish people as depicted on stage and in song and Broadwayworld was there. Hosted by comedian/actor/singer Robert Klein and written by playwright Glen Berger, From Moses to Mostel also featured musical director Frank London and an ensemble of special guests, including The Klezmatics, performing music from Broadway, off-Broadway, Yiddish Theatre and more.
