Clearly, Once is a perfect show for a family with teenage children. It doesn't pander in any way, yet it's message is so pure and beautiful, it becomes holistically wholesome by the end of the show. It's a love story. There is no violence. Women are not exploited. Children are not harmed. But there is pain and heartbreak and loss and when those things are filtered through the minds and mouths of working class Irish folk, the F word shows up. A lot.

Speaking at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts annual benefit gala last night at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, Academy Award-winning director, producer and screenwriter Oliver Stone recalled his days at the iconic arts school, which he attended in the years after his return from Vietnam. "I entered back into civilization at Tisch," he said. "New York was the right place at the right time. It's been my orphan home." Mr. Stone was honored last night by NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for Outstanding Achievement in the Cinematic Arts. Tony and Grammy-award winning actor Steve Kazee (Once) and Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson co-hosted the benefit gala, where over $1 million was raised for the school. The evening's entertainment included a stirring rendition of the Oscar-winning "Falling Slowly" by Kazee, as well as a series of musical performances by current Tisch students. The Hollywood Reporter writes that Lifetime has renewed DROP DEAD DIVA for a sixth season. 13 new episodes will air in 2014. The news comes after the drama was briefly cancelled after its fourth season, then reinstated after the network settled its budget with Sony Pictures Television.
