Photo Flash: Steve Kazee and The Shiny Liars Play Birdland

On Sunday, August 11, Steve Kazee, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning star of ONCE, took to the Birdland stage with his band, The Shiny Liars (Lora Faye on guitar and Anthony Taddeo on percussion). Scroll down for photos from the concert!
The trio performed an intimate acoustic set of original material and a few favorite covers, including a very special impromptu duet of "Falling Slowly," from ONCE. Earlier in the day, Kazee read a Tweet from Allie Marshall, a fan who wrote "the only thing that could possibly make this day better is if Steve Kazee lets me sing with him." Even though the two had never met, Steve invited Allie onto the stage and made her wish come true! Luckily, Allie possesses a lovely voice and sang her heart out, to the audience's delight. In addition to winning the 2012 Tony and 2013 Grammy for Musical Theater Album for his performance as Guy in ONCE, Steve has performed as Sir Lancelot in Monty Python's Spamalot, Starbuck (opposite Audra McDonald) in Roundabout's 110 in the Shade, in To Be or Not to Be at MTC, and in Edward Albee's Seascape.
