Actors Co-Op production of 33 VARIATIONS Extends Through 3/26

Actors Co-op (Ovation Award-Winner 2014 Best Intimate Theatre Musical for110 in the Shade) is thrilled to announce that the third show in its celebratory 25th Silver Anniversary season, the critically-acclaimed (LA Times CRITIC'S CHOICE!, Stage Raw TOP TEN, Ovation Recommended), smash-hit, Los Angeles intimate theatre premiere of 33 VARIATIONS by Moises Kaufman, choreography by Michelle Parrish and directed by Thomas James O'Leary (Next to Normal) is EXTENDING through SUNDAY, MARCH 26at the Actors Co-op David Schall Theatre, 1760 N. Pulitzer Prize Winner David Lindsay-Abaire to Join Juilliard as Co-Director of Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program

James Houghton, Richard Rodgers Director ofJuilliard's Drama Division, announced today that Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire will join Marsha Normanas new co-director of Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program, beginning in the fall 2016 semester. Mr. Lindsay-Abaire, an alumnus of the program, will succeed Christopher Durang, who has served as co-director of the program with Ms. Norman since 1994.

Revisited Classics Stages Free Reading of Anton Chekhov's THREE SISTERS on 3/7

Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, co-adapted by Shawn Rene Graham and John-Martin Green is transposed to America in the early 1900s.  Set on a cavalry outpost in rural Texas, this is the tale of a group of cultured, intelligent blacks in turn-of-the-century America observing the kind of entitlement that wealthy whites had always taken for granted, and the price they pay for that entitlement. The reading is on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Theatre503 Reveals Winners of First Playwriting Award

The inaugural Theatre503 Playwriting Award took a surprise turn today as the judges announced not one but two winners of the much sought-after prize, which had received over 1,600 hopeful applications from 41 countries. Due to the generosity of The Richard Carne Trust and an anonymous donor, Theatre503 was able to offer both playwrights a substantial prize of £6,000 and the guaranteed production of their work at the Battersea venue in 2015.

FLIM FLAM: HOUDINI AND THE HEREAFTER Opens 6/20 at Malibu Playhouse

The fourth play in MALIBU PLAYHOUSE's 2013-2014 season will be the World Premiere of Flim-Flam: Houdini and the Hereafter by Gene Franklin Smith,, opening Friday, June 20, 2014. The play will be directed by Thomas James O'Leary and stars Rick D. Wasserman, Melissa Kite, Gigi Bermingham, Peter Van Norden, Sabra Malkinson and Cameron Mitchell Jr.

Theatre503 Presents THATCHERWRITE, June 11-15

Battersea's Theatre503 has announced the full line-up of writers contributing to THATCHERWRITE - a series of short plays in response to the life and death of one the UK's most divisive Prime Ministers - Margaret Thatcher. Literary Manager Steve Harper has invited a diverse range of writers including established playwrights, members of the venues 503Five writers in residence scheme, and a newly discovered first time playwright, to contribute. THATCHERWRITE will run from 11 - 15 June at Theatre503, above the Latchmere pub in Battersea.

On the 8th April 2013 Margaret Thatcher proved that in death, as in life, she could still divide the nation. In response to the national conversation surrounding Thatcher's death, Battersea's Theatre503 has invited a broad spectrum of writers including Dan Rebellato (CHEKOV IN HELL), Fraser Grace (BREAKFAST WITH MUGABE), Judy Upton (ASHES AND SAND) and Daily Telegraph theatre critic Dominic Cavendish (HACKED) to write a series of short plays looking back at Margaret Thatcher - the woman, the politics and her legacy. THATCHERWRITE will run from 11 - 15 June.
