Blue Note Jazz Club, the iconic Greenwich Village jazz and blues venue that offers live musical performances every night of the week, is proud to announce an impressive roster of acts this October. Each performer is scheduled for two shows per night, 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. Doors open at 6:00 pm and reservations are strongly suggested. Tickets are $30 at the bar, $45 for table reservations unless otherwise noted.

He is also pleased to announce his line up of special guests for his Today night appearances. Members of the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center's Strand Band entertained surprised onlookers today with a flash-style concert from the Strand-Capitol's marquee - overlooking George Street from 16 feet in the air. The surprise performance was to celebrate the kickoff of the Strand-Capitol's 2013-2014 lineup of shows, which begins on September 12 and continue through May.

The Hartt School will welcome acclaimed tenor saxophonist Javon Jackson as Associate Professor of Jazz and Chair of the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz. Jackson, who's appointment begins in August, will serve as the educational and administrative leader for the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, and will teach, work with ensembles, assist in recruitment and development efforts, and represent the Institute and The Hartt School both internally and externally.

Mr. Fischman had served as chief executive officer since he founded the company in 2008. Mr. Davis has been President of Rue La La since 2010.
