The nominations were released this morning for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards. Mad Men topped the list with 19 nominations, followed by Boardwalk Empire with 18, Modern Family with 17, Saturday Night Live with 16, Game of Thrones and 30 Rock with 13 and GLEE with 12. TEEN CHOICE 2011 will celebrate the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion in the choicest, star-studded two-hour event airing live Sunday, Aug. 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' leads the TEEN CHOICE 2011 nominees with 12 nominations, and GLEE has nine nominations. In addition, 'The Vampire Diaries' has seven nominations, while 'The Hangover Part II,' Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez each earned six nominations.

According to an exclusive report in Entertainment Weekly, James Spader may become a permanent fixture on NBC's 'The Office.' While he has long been rumored to be a candidate to replace Steve Carell, EW.com reports that Spader is actually in talks to replace Kathy Bates as the CEO of Dunder Mifflin.

Production has begun in London on LIFE'S TOO SHORT, the new comedy series from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (creators of the Golden Globe-winning BBC comedy series 'The Office' and the HBO series 'Extras' and 'The Ricky Gervais Show').

Long Wharf Theatre will present the improv and sketch comedy show The Best of Second City from June 15-19 on the Mainstage.

The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA), a new offshoot of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, today announced nominations for the inaugural Critics' Choice Television Awards, hosted by Cat Deeley and scheduled to take place at a luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on June 20, 2011. ABC was the most nominated broadcast network with 16 nominations, followed closely by NBC with 12. AMC and FX led nominations for cable networks, with nine each. Modern Family was the most nominated series with six.

MTV today announced that the Foo Fighters will rock the '2011 MTV Movie Awards' stage for the first time since 2005, debuting their next single, 'Walk,' off their seventh studio album 'Wasting Light.' Known for their epic live performances, Foo Fighters will join hip-hop artists Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz as the musical acts featured in this year's live show, along with previously announced presenters Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.

Critically-acclaimed hip-hop superstar Lupe Fiasco will take the stage at the '2011 MTV Movie Awards'. He will be joined by R&B sensation, Trey Songz for their first-ever televised performance together. Grammy Award-winning Lupe Fiasco will treat viewers to two songs from his hit album LASERS, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. Fiasco will first rip the stage with the television debut of Fiasco and Trey Songz's collaborative single 'Out of My Head,' to be followed by a performance of his platinum single 'The Show Goes On.'

MTV today announced that Academy Award(R)-winning actress Reese Witherspoon will be honored with the 'MTV Generation Award' during the '2011 MTV Movie Awards' for her exceptional contributions to the film industry and for charming generations of the MTV audience throughout her career. Witherspoon is considered one of Hollywood's most talented, diverse and bankable actresses, who consistently holds film critics and moviegoers spellbound with her varied and engrossing performances. The 'MTV Generation Award' is the 'MTV Movie Awards' highest honor, acknowledging an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything she does. Past recipients include Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey. Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the '2011 MTV Movie Awards' will broadcast LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

Spike TV will present comedy icon Jim Carrey with the Funniest M.F. award at this year's 'Guys Choice' bash. Funniest M.F. is one of the night's premiere honors as previous winners include fellow standouts Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and most recently, Chris Rock. Taping Saturday, June 4th at the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA, the fifth annual event premieres Friday, June 10 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
