Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Alan Ayckbourn's science fiction comedy Communicating Doors. Eleven plays penned by Alan Ayckbourn have been produced by the Alley, including the American premiere of Henceforward, directed by Ayckbourn, in 1987 and House & Garden in 2002. Alan Ayckbourn has been inducted into the American Theatre's Hall of Fame, received the 2010 Critics' Circle Award for Services to the Arts, became the first British playwright to receive both Olivier and Tony Special Lifetime Achievement Awards and was knighted in 1997 for services to the theatre.

MTV today announced that actor and producer Channing Tatum will receive the third annual "MTV Trailblazer Award" presented by Mila Kunis during the "2014 MTV Movie Awards"

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Steve Carell will star in the upcoming film adaptation of David Menasche's memoir THE PRIORITY LIST. Warner Bros. has just picked up the rights to the film; Carell will also produce alongside Carousel Productions.

Universal Cable Productions (UCP) continues to align itself with the industry's hottest talent, adding two new pod deals to its growing all-star roster. Steve Carell's Carousel Television and Jessica Biel's Iron Ocean Productions join UCP with exclusive development deals; it was announced today by Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Group. As with the two previous engagements at Studio 35, Improv Wars will showcase local improv groups competing for audience laughs and applause. This is an interactive evening where the audience gets to be a part of the show by providing suggestions to give the groups inspiration for their scene. The winning group for each night goes on to the finale on May 13th, competing for the Winner of the Improv Wars: The Spring Offensive. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
