There are plenty of seasonal treats served up in the capital this year, from pantos and plays to opera and dance. Here are some of the tastiest morsels for the 2018-19 festive period.

Taking the term 'pub theatre' literally, Cinderella is an outrageous site-specific show that takes all the best of traditional British panto and tops it off with a pint. Penned by Luke Barnes (All We Ever Wanted Was Everything), this knees up of a night out brings all the characters you know, love and hate, to pull your mates, spill your pints and pour their hearts out on the Karaoke. Crammed with live music, bingo, massaoke, and a touch of midnight magic, Cinderella will have you dancing in the aisles and laughing your bloody baubles off. Think Tarantino meets Shameless, meets ELF...all in a real, local boozer.

Matthew Warchus' fourth season as Artistic Director of The Old Vic completes with an Arthur Miller double-bill, a World Premiere by Lucy Prebble and a special One Voice performance. Theatrical charity Acting for Others announces that over 150,000 has been raised at this year's One Night Only at The Ivy setting the record for the highest amount raised from this event. Stars of the stage and screen swapped their costumes for aprons and served diners across two sittings at The Ivy, world-renowned for their unfaltering impeccable service. Heading up the waiting staff this year to ply their trades in bartending, waiting tables, manning cloakrooms and welcoming guests were Noma Dumezweni, Arlene Phillips and Freddie Fox.

Theatrical charity Acting for Others today announces the return of One Night Only at The Ivy in West Street on Sunday 10 December 2017. Over 100,000 was raised last year for the charity, which is an umbrella organisation for 15 invaluable charities dedicated to supporting people from the theatre and dance communities who have fallen on hard times through injury, illness or circumstance.

Patrick Marber was inspired to write The Red Lion following his own experiences in non-league football club ownership. And the play - which was first performed in 2015 at the National Theatre has been revised (by Marber) to make it a much slicker and darker insight into male relationships and the tricky juxtaposition between the roles of big business and community spirit in our grassroots game.
