A SINGULAR THEY to Make World Premiere at The Blank Theatre

The cast and designers have been set for The Blank Theatre's world premiere production of A SINGULAR THEY by Aliza Goldstein, directed by Christopher J. Raymond. Performances begin March 19 with opening night set for Saturday, March 26.

Collegiate Theatrics: CCM's RYAN GARRETT

One of the best parts of covering and reviewing theater in one region for almost 30 years is seeing new talent emerge from among the area's younger actors. Take, for example, Ryan Garrett - a 2012 First Night Most Promising Actor and a graduate of Williamson County's Centennial High School, he now studies at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, a program that has encouraged him to think outside the box and which has challenged him with ever-more intense roles onstage and in the classroom.

Roundabout's 5th Annual Underground Reading Series to Feature New Works by Alexander Gemignani & More

Roundabout Theatre Company has confirmed the lineup for its fifth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series this morning, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as curtain speeches by Roundabout Underground artist alumni and post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Ben Steinfeld, Alexander Gemignani, Jireh Breon Holder, Sylvia Khoury, Martin Zimmerman and Jessica Moss.

The Broadway production of Stephen Karam's much-raved-about new play, The Humans, will begin performances at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street) on Saturday, January 23, 2016, and open officially on Thursday, February 18. Directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, the play will feature its entire acclaimed current Off-Broadway cast. Waterwell Names 2016 New Works Lab Playwright

Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater and creators of GOODBAR and #9, continues its annual series of developmental workshop productions with a commission by Dael Orlandersmith (Forever, Yellowman, Beauty's Daugther) for its senior Drama Class of 2016 at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS). The new play, Some of the Things Inside, will be directed by Allison Talis and will premiere at PPAS in April 2016.

Roundabout Adds Two New Plays to Off-Broadway Season; Expands Underground Program

Following the unprecedented success of Stephen Karam (Roundabout Underground's inaugural playwright) and his Roundabout-commissioned play THE HUMANS moving to Broadway, Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the Underground will now produce two new works each season.  The program's expansion will begin in fall 2016 with the world premiere of Jenny Rachel Weiner's Kingdom Come.
