Aiming to produce all of Euripides' extant plays chronologically, New York Euripides Summer Festival will present what many consider to be Euripides' magnum opus, BACCHAE beginning June 26 at three different Manhattan venues.

Viral concerns during pre-production mandated another remote rendering of this year's New York Euripides Summer Festival productions of Ion and Orestes. Governed by Apollo and his instrumental function in both plays, Ion and Orestes are presented in the same double bill.

As summer theater aims for a comeback after the pandemic, the New York Euripides Summer Festival was compelled to present its 2021 lineup of Phoenician Maidens and Iphigenia at Aulis remotely, using Zoom, for the second summer season, due to the strict regulations applicable for indoor rehearsing and performing.

This summer's scheduled productions of Euripides' Helen and Electra took on a cinematic twist, becoming accessible not only through NYC outdoor and indoor stages but to the world, using innovative ideas that combine theater and filmmaking in a totally pioneering style, as seen in the festival videos. American Thymele Theatre and Telephilms USA founder Stephen Diacrussi explains how a vision became reality, surpassing his initial expectations for a virtual festival.

A New York City summer tradition, the New York Euripides Summer Festival is back in town presenting two rarely-staged Euripidean classics, IPHIGENIA AMONG THE TAURIANS and DAUGHTERS OF TROY in a limited run from July 27th through August 1st in select outdoor stages and indoor performances. All performances are free of charge to the general public and to students of all ages.

Currently in its tenth summer season, New York Euripides Summer Festival presents Suppliants in three outdoor stages and one indoor stage from the 2nd through the 10th of August. All performances are free of charge to the general public including students and children. In this unusually structured tragedy from ca. 421 BCE, the wives and children of killed soldiers go to Eleusis, near Athens, to seek justice for their dead and help from the monarch of Athens to pressure Thebes to surrender the corpses to their families so that they can be given a  proper burial.

Now in its ninth summer season, New York Euripides Summer Festival presents six performances of The Madness of Hercules in three select outdoor stages and one indoor stage from July 31 through August 6. All performances are presented free of charge to the general public and to students and children.

The New York Euripides Summer Festival presents the only complete satyr play Cyclops for its 2016 summer season with five, free performances starting July 29 through August 5 This comic dramatization, based on Book IX of Homer's The Odyssey, is the only extant surviving satyr play and depicts Odysseus confronting Polyphemus, one of the cyclopes, on his way back to Ithaca, before escaping from Sicily. Enjoy a fully-staged production of this rarely produced classic, presented by American Thymele Theatre with music by Athan Hilaki, without intermission. Stephen Diacrussi directs this satyric remnant from 425B.C.E. The cast includes Beatrice Ghose, Andrew James Gordon, Patrick J. Leddy, Fenton Li, Peter Mercury, and Tristan Polania.

The chorus is led by David Bushman.
