Theatre Now New York to Host RAW Reading Series, 3/9

Theatre Now New York will host the first meeting of 2014 of the RAW Reading series on Sunday, March 9, 2014. The reading will begin at 3:00 pm in the Mitchell Room on the third floor of 520 Eighth Avenue.

Winners Announced of SOUND BITES Festival

Winners announced of SOUND BITES festival of 10-minute musicals which was held this past Monday evening at The 47th Street Theatre in New York City and produced by Theatre Now New York. Over 50 entries were received during the submission period. A panel of 12 adjudicators selected the top 10 finalists, which were performed to an appreciative sell-out crowd.

Jim Brickman Makes Rare Bay Area Appearance with David Burnham November 10, 2013

Continuing its 10th Anniversary Season, Bay Area Cabaret presents America's Romantic Piano Sensation, Jim Brickman in concert. Making his first San Francisco appearance in nearly ten years, Mr. Brickman will perform solo at 8pm, and with special guest Broadway tenor David Burnham at 5pm, Sunday, November 10, at the historic Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco, 950 Mason Street. BWW Reviews: Rock WILK's Gritty BROKE WIDE OPEN Plays 45th Street Theatre

Producer Rain Pryor is currently starring in her own critically acclaimed, solo autobiographical show "Fried Chicken and Latkes" and joins director Stephen Bishop Seely ("8 Million Protagonists") on the project. Rock WILK wrote and composed BROKE WIDE OPEN. The design team behind BROKE WIDE OPEN includes: Jason Sisino and Lee Alston (art design), Omayra Garriga Casiano (lighting design), Rock WILK (sound design), and Nivia Marrero Rolon (stage manager).

The off-broadway production stars spoken-word artist Rock WILK, who has turned the emotionally-charged search for his biological mother into an autobiographical solo play, punctuated by his own hip-hop compositions. BROKE WIDE OPEN is also presented by '500 Names," a grass-roots social media and fundraising effort for the New York City premiere. The show opens tonight, November 9th at The 45th Street Theatre (354 West 45th Street; Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm; Wednesday & Saturday matinees at 2pm).
