As the Traverse Theatre enjoys an acclaimed Festival programme it launches its Autumn season today (17 August), featuring a programme of world-class productions, festivals and engagement events. Traverse Theatre Company production, Tracks of the Winter Bear by Rona Munro and Stephen Greenhorn, premieres on 9 December, bringing to a close a season of work that reinforces the Traverse's position as one of the UK's foremost new writing theatres. 

CONNECTIONS, the National Theatre's annual festival of new plays for youth theatres and schools, comes to Canterbury later this month (April).

Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham today announces the full programme for the second annual Tricycle Takeover which sees Tricycle Theatre Young Company return to the theatre to perform an entirely new programme of work this March.

In its 50th year, Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre will put the future of new writing centre stage in its annual new writing festival, Write Here. The Festival will present never-before-seen work from the fifty writers that were selected to work on attachment with the theatre in 2013, in celebration of its golden anniversary year. The Arches, Glasgow has announced its autumn theatre season, including the return of one of their most successful productions ever, the smash hit international touring sensation Bullet Catch. The show, which has seen sell-out success in London, Edinburgh, New York and Brazil, will return to The Arches for a 2-week run this month. Each night, an audience member will be asked to fire a gun live on stage, as Rob Drummond attempts the most infamous stunt of them all, so dangerous Houdini himself refused to perform it.

The Traverse announces its Autumn season today, presenting a canon of world-class theatre to bring its 50th anniversary year to a close. The theatre welcomes back David Harrower's multi-award-winning 2013 Festival hit play, Ciara, directed by Traverse Artistic Director Orla O'Loughlin. The new writing festival Write Here will showcase the work of the Traverse Fifty, who have been on attachment this year.

St. Ann's Warehouse (Artistic Director, Susan Feldman; Executive Director, Andrew D. Hamingson) will present the American Premiere of Roadkill, an immersive off-site performance that hurtles audiences into the cruel world of human trafficking. Conceived and directed by Cora Bissett with text by Stef Smith, Roadkill is the only production in Edinburgh Fringe history to win all of the festival's major theater awards, in addition to receiving the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award and Britain's 2012 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement at an Affiliate Theatre. The Evening Standard has called the work "a performance of shattering intensity."

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) produces a summer program annually featuring a festival of plays-from family musicals to international guest artists to classic and re-imagined productions of Shakespeare's canon-attracting Chicagoans and tourists alike. Over nine million people come to Navy Pier each year, the majority in the summer months, and Chicago Shakespeare is the premier theatrical attraction at the Midwest's most visited site.
