Louise Lasser to Direct On The Wind Productions' CHINESE COFFEE Revival; Performances Begin 9/24

On The Wind Productions will present a revival of CHINESE COFFEE by Ira Lewis. The production will be directed by Emmy nominee Louise Lasser (Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman; Girls; Bananas on Broadway) starring Obie Award winner Austin Pendleton (My Cousin Vinny, The Diary of Anne Frank on Broadway) and Sean Walsh. Previews begin September 24 with opening slated for September 28 at the Roy Arias Stage II Theater.

DPAC Presents DIRTY DANCING, Tickets on Sale 6/28

DPAC announced today that individual tickets for the Triangle premiere of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage will go on sale June 28 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at the DPAC Ticket Center or by visiting DPACnc.com and Ticketmaster. The staged musical of this worldwide smash-hit film will play DPAC September 16-21, 2014.

MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL National Tour Coming to Stamford's Palace Theatre, 5/4

Suzanne Bertish, Carson Elrod, Claire Karpen & More to Lead CSC's THE HEIR APPARENT

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present David Ives' THE HEIR APPARENT, adapted from the play by Jean-Francois Regnard, beginning performances Friday, March 28 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). Directed by John Rando, THE HEIR APPARENT will feature Suzanne Bertish (Madame Argante), Carson Elrod (Crispin), Claire Karpen (Lisette), Amelia Pedlow (Isabelle), David Pittu (Scruple), Dave Quay (Eraste) and Paxton Whitehead (Geronte). The official press opening for THE HEIR APPARENT is Wednesday, April 9. The production will play at limited engagement through Sunday, May 4.

WALLENBERG, A NEW MUSICAL DRAMA Plays Lynn University's Wold Center for the Performing Arts Tonight

Raoul Wallenberg's epic journey will be brought to life in a multi-media staged reading of Wallenberg, A New Musical Drama. The production will take place at Lynn University's Wold Center for the Performing Arts on February 12th and 13th only. With book and lyrics by the 2006 Kleban Award-winning team of Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needleman, and music by Benjamin Rosenbluth, Wallenberg, A New Musical Drama recounts the fascinating and uplifting story of one of the greatest heroes of the twentieth century.

THE WOODSMAN Premieres Tonight at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters has announced the return of Strangemen & Co. with the premiere of THE WOODSMAN, created by James Ortiz, and directed by Mr. Ortiz and Claire Karpen. THE WOODSMAN begins performances tonight, January 30 for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 16. Press Opening is Wednesday, February 5 at 7:15 PM.

Stamford's Palace Theatre Hosts Blood Drive for the American Red Cross Today

Stamford Center for the Arts (SCA) will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive today, March 3 from 8:00am-1:00pm at the Palace Theatre at 61 Atlantic Street. Application Submission Deadline for Stamford Center for the Arts' Emerging Young Artist Scholarship Set for 2/25

For the 4th consecutive year, Stamford Center for the Arts will be awarding its Emerging Young Artist Scholarship Award to a talented vocalist, in honor of Liza Minnelli. The deadline to submit the completed audition form, resume and CD is February 25th. The recipient of this award will receive a $2,000 scholarship to pursue his/her musical education and will receive the award at the 4th annual Palace Theatre Gala on June 21st. The criteria and audition process for the scholarship is outlined on SCA's website at www.SCAlive.org on the Education page.
