Stamford Center for the Arts and the Connecticut Ballet are teaming up to collect school supplies for the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School. Those attending the Ballet's The Nutcracker performances this Saturday and Sunday are asked to bring crayons, markers, lined paper, pencils, and teacher supplies to be dropped in the bins located in the lobby. These much needed supplies will help ease the transition into a new school building and bring a sense of normalcy to a very difficult situation. The supplies will be delivered to Sandy Hook's PTA next week.
MTC MainStage, Music Theatre of Connecticut's Professional Equity Acting Company, presents an encore of its' Moss Hart Award-Winning production of 'It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.' Adapted for the stage by Joe Landry and directed by MTC MainStage Artistic Director Kevin Connors, this beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. Two benefit performances are today, December 15 at 2pm and 8pm and take place at MTC MainStage Studio Theatre in Westport, CT. All proceeds to benefit Music Theatre of Connecticut and its programming.

The Board of Directors of Stamford Center for the Arts announced today that Executive Director, Elissa O. Getto, will be resigning effective January 1, 2013. Ms. Getto began as a consultant with SCA in the fall of 2008 while the organization was in bankruptcy and was named Executive Director in July 2009.
