Following an acclaimed, sold-out run earlier this year Fault Line Theatre will transfer its timely new play FROM WHITE PLAINS - about the lasting effects of gay bullying - to the Pershing Square Signature Center for an Off-Broadway run, currently running through March 9, 2013. Stamford's Palace Theatre to Host Blood Drive for the American Red Cross, 3/3

Stamford Center for the Arts (SCA) will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Sunday, March 3 from 8:00am-1:00pm at the Palace Theatre at 61 Atlantic Street. For more information or to make an appointment to donate, please visit www.redcrossblood.org and click on the Make a Blood Donation Appointment box in the upper right hand corner of the page. Two pairs of tickets to Paddy Moloney & The Chieftains will be given away to two lucky presenting donors that day.

The Palace in Stamford Announces Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers Featuring Edie Brickell as 2013 Gala Artists

Stamford Center for the Arts is pleased to announce Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell as the featured artists for the Palace Theatre's 4th Annual Gala on June 21st. The event is made possible through the generous support of Presenting Sponsors Purdue Pharma and RFR Realty. Tickets go on sale to SCA members Friday, January 25th at 11:00am and on sale to the general public Friday, February 1st at 11:00am at www.SCAlive.org. Gala tickets may be purchased by calling the Development Office at 203-517-3426.

FROM WHITE PLAINS Will Open Off-Broadway 2/14

Following an acclaimed, sold-out run earlier this year Fault Line Theatre will transfer its timely new play FROM WHITE PLAINS - about the lasting effects of gay bullying - to the Pershing Square Signature Center for an Off-Broadway run beginning February 8, 2013 and running through March 9, it has been announced by Fault Line Theatre Co-Artistic Directors, Aaron Rossini and Craig Wesley Divino.

SCA Teams Up with Connecticut Ballet to Collect School Supplies for Sandy Hook

Stamford Center for the Arts and the Connecticut Ballet are teaming up to collect school supplies for the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School. Those attending the Ballet's The Nutcracker performances this Saturday and Sunday are asked to bring crayons, markers, lined paper, pencils, and teacher supplies to be dropped in the bins located in the lobby. These much needed supplies will help ease the transition into a new school building and bring a sense of normalcy to a very difficult situation. The supplies will be delivered to Sandy Hook's PTA next week.

MTC MainStage's IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE Returns for Two Benefit Performances Today

MTC MainStage, Music Theatre of Connecticut's Professional Equity Acting Company, presents an encore of its' Moss Hart Award-Winning production of 'It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.' Adapted for the stage by Joe Landry and directed by MTC MainStage Artistic Director Kevin Connors, this beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. Two benefit performances are today, December 15 at 2pm and 8pm and take place at MTC MainStage Studio Theatre in Westport, CT. All proceeds to benefit Music Theatre of Connecticut and its programming.

Ken Davenport of Davenport Theatrical Enterprises presented a reading of the new play Schooled, written by Lisa Lewis and directed by Jules Ochoa, as part of the Davenport Developmental Reading Series. Schooled stars Tony nominee Peter Friedman (Playwrights Horizon's Circle Mirror Transformation), Sarah Steele (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's Slowgirl), Harry Zittel (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's All-American) and Zoe Winters (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's 4000 Miles). The reading took place on Monday, December 3rd at The Davenport Studios, located at 250 West 49th Street, Suite 304, in New York City. Check out photos from the reading below!

Stamford Center for the Arts Executive Director Elissa O. Getto to Resign

The Board of Directors of Stamford Center for the Arts announced today that Executive Director, Elissa O. Getto, will be resigning effective January 1, 2013. Ms. Getto began as a consultant with SCA in the fall of 2008 while the organization was in bankruptcy and was named Executive Director in July 2009.
