BroadwayWorld.com has just learned the casting for an upcoming New York City developmental lab of the Casey Nicholaw directed and choreographed, and Broadway (via Seattle) bound new musical, Something Rotten!

Rocky star Andy Karl and his wife Orfeh just released a new mash-up song called 'No Time for Pain (A Tribute to Rocky Broadway)' with a photographic flashback on the run of Rocky, which just closed on Broadway. This video features the Rocky instrumental theme, with vocal talents from Orfeh and Andy Karl.

Broadway's new ROCKY musical plays its final performance at the Winter Garden Theatre today, August 17th, after 28 previews and 188 regular performances. ROCKY received its world premiere in fall 2012 in Hamburg, Germany, where it continues to play to packed houses. The musical opened on Broadway on March, 13, 2014. Rocky may be on it's way out, with its final performance at the Winter Garden Theatre scheduled for Sunday, August 17th, but some of the show's ensemble cast is just starting to heat up. The Gypsy Robe began in 1950, when Bill Bradley, in the chorus of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, borrowed a dressing gown from Chorus member Florence Baum and sent it to a friend in CALL ME MADAM on opening night Oct 12, 1950 saying it was worn by all the Ziegfeld beauties and would 'bless' the show. A cabbage rose from Ethel Merman's gown was added and the robe was passed along to next Broadway musical on opening night. The tradition evolved so that the robe is now presented to the 'gypsy' who has performed the most Broadway musicals on a chorus contract. Along the way, the robe is decorated, painted, patched, stitched, and signed by everyone in the show, becoming a fanciful patchwork for an entire Broadway season.

The new Broadway musical ROCKY began previews in a big way on Thursday, February 13th! Following the first performance, the one and only Sylvester Stallone stepped back into the ring to celebrate the show's launch with the cast and we were there to capture the appearance.

The first preview of the new Broadway musical ROCKY (presented by Stage Entertainment USA and Sylvester Stallone), set for tonight, February 11, has been canceled; it was announced this morning. ROCKY will now begin previews on Thursday, February13, with no performance originally scheduled for tomorrow.

ROCKY begins previews tonight, February 11, and officially opens on March 13 at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, New York, NY).
