Stuart Thompson & David Turner Partnering for New Broadway Management Company

After having worked together for over 7 years, Stuart Thompson and David Turner are forming a new general management company, Thompson Turner Productions, which will have King Charles III as its first Broadway credit and will continue to be a general management company for Broadway and touring shows.  Thompson will continue to produce under the umbrella of Stuart Thompson Productions.

THE VAST MACHINE to Premiere at Axis Theatre, 10/8-11/7

Axis Theatre will present the world premiere of The Vast Machine, a new play written and directed by Randy Sharp about the dilemmas facing the crew of a slave ship at sea in the Middle Passage. Performances will take place October 1- November 7 at Axis Theatre (1 Sheridan Square) in the West Village.

Pittsburgh CLO's GYPSY Opens Tonight

Glimmerglass Festival Receives Funding for 2015 Season, New Initiatives

The Glimmerglass Festival has announced it is the recent recipient of five grants for special purposes. The company celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and these awards will help the company continue its commitment to new productions of American and rare works, expand its community engagement endeavors and assist in making capital improvements to portions of the theater.

Pianist Pavel Kolesnikov Performs Tonight at Carnegie Hall Tonight

Russian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov, Prize Laureate of the 2012 Honens International Piano Competition and a BBC New Generation Artist (a program that provides opportunities to develop live and recorded performances, including broadcasts with the BBC orchestras), makes his New York debut at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, tonight, March 24, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Kolesnikov will perform works by Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann and Scriabin.

Excerpts from PARADISE INTERRUPTED Performed at the Met Museum Today

Excerpts from Paradise Interrupted, a new installation opera by artist Jennifer Wen Ma and composer Huang Ruo, will be performed in The Metropolitan Museum of Art's The Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing today, March 21. The Met Museum Presents performances offer a special preview of this work in progress before the world premiere at the 2015 Spoleto Festival USA in May. There will be two Metropolitan Museum performances at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets start at $54 and are available online atmetmuseum.org/tickets or by phone (212) 570-3949. Tickets include Museum admission and are part of the Museum's 'Bring the Kids for $1' program.

Spoleto Festival USA Unveils 2015 Poster by Italian Artist Ugo Nespolo; Kicks Off 5/22

A bright and bold poster designed by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo was unveiled by General Director Nigel Redden as the official 2015 Spoleto Festival USA poster today. Nespolo is the set and costume designer for Spoleto Festival USA's production of Francesco Cavalli's opera Veremonda l'amazzone di Aragona, which will have its American premiere-and first performances in over 350 years-at this year's Festival, running May 22 through June 7 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Clubbed Thumb Sets Lineup for 20th Annual SUMMERWORKS, Kicking Off in May

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 20th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 20th through June 29th at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: D DEB DEBBIE DEBORAH by Jerry Lieblich, directed by Lee Sunday Evans; CARD AND GIFT by Kate E. Ryan, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus, directed by Will Davis. Festival passes are now on sale at https://www.artful.ly/clubbedthumb/store/passes.
