The singer, who "blends performance art, cabaret, and pop culture into a style that defies labeling," (Preview Magazine), sold out her Koerner Hall debut on February 2, 2013.

This April, Dancehouse, Carriageworks and the Keir Foundation present the premieres of eight works by outstanding commissioned artists for the 2016 Keir Choreographic Award (KCA), Australia's first major choreographic award. Performing in two programs over five days (April 26-30) at Melbourne's Dancehouse, the eight choreographers compete for the prestigious award and a $30,000 first-place cash prize, with four finalists to be announced on the final evening.

The recording, a hybrid SACD is out today, Friday, April 8, 2016, is the second in an ongoing series by Music Director Thierry Fischer and the Utah Symphony for Reference Recordings. It follows the release of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 'Titan,' recorded live by the Utah Symphony and Mr. Fischer, issued in September 2015. American Composers Forum Announces Recipients of Champion of New Music Award

The American Composers Forum (ACF) Board of Directors has voted to present its 2016 “Champion of New Music” award to four outstanding recipients: Pianist and Contemporary Chamber Ensemble founding member Gilbert Kalish; Opera Parallèle's artistic director, conductor, and founder Nicole Paiement; new music writer, blogger and New Yorker magazine columnist Alex Ross; and conductor, pianist, composer and pedagogue Robert Spano at public ceremonies this year. The “Champion of New Music” award was established by ACF in 2005 as a national mark of recognition to honor individuals or ensembles that have made a significant contribution to the work and livelihoods of contemporary composers. ACF President and CEO John Nuechterlein will present the awards at three events in the coming months:
Cast, Directors Announced for Gate Theatre's World Premiere of THE IPHIGENIA QUARTET

Artistic Director Christopher Haydon today announces full casting for the world premiere of The Iphigenia Quartet which includes Agamemnon, written by Caroline Bird and directed by Christopher Haydon; Chorus, written by Chris Thorpe and directed by Elayce Ismail; Iphigenia by Suhayla El-Bushra and directed by Rebecca Hill and Clytemnestra by Lulu Raczka and directed by Jennifer Tang. In Agamemnon, Andrew French plays Agamemnon, Nigel Barratt plays Menelaus, Sharon Duncan-Brewster plays Clytemnestra and Louise McMenemy plays Messenger. The cast of Agamemnon will all play Voice in Chorus. In Iphigenia and Clytemnestra, Shannon Tarbet plays Iphigenia and Maid, Susie Trayling plays Clytemnestra and Professor, Dwane Walcott plays Achilles and Soldier and Anthony Barclay plays Agamemnon and Director. The Iphigenia Quartet opens at the Gate Theatre, on 3 May, with previews from 23 April, until 21 May. Agamemnon and Clytemnestra will play in rep with Iphigenia and Chorus as part of Nuclear: A Season about the Family.
