Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, has announced the cast for WORLD VIEWS, a collection of new mini-musicals in concert, the culmination of Prospect's 2017 Musical Theater Lab. WORLD VIEWS, the company's 11th lab performance, will be presented on July 8, 2017 at 8pm at The TimesCenter.
Tisch New Theatre will present HAIRSPRAY, the musical based on the 1988 film written and directed by John Waters, April 1-4 at the NYU Skirball Center. With music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, HAIRSPRAY the musical premiered on Broadway in 2002 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Set in 1962 Baltimore, the musical tells the story of plump teenager Tracy Turnblad, whose life dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she launches an ambitious campaign to integrate the show. HAIRSPRAY focuses on civil rights, the beauty of diversity and individuality, and acts as a beacon of hope and inclusiveness in the theatre world and beyond.

On April 12th, 2015, Tony Nominee Michael McElroy (Rent, Big River), Broadway's Caissie Levy (Ghost, Les Miserables), Derek Klena (Dogfight, Wicked), and Eden Espinosa (RENT, Wicked) will perform in Raise Your Voice: A Cabaret For A Cure, a benefit concert to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Conceived and directed by Rob Morean, a Sophomore at Tisch School of the Arts in the Department of Drama's New Studio on Broadway, and inspired by his recent battle and win against Hodgkin's Lymphoma, all proceeds from the cabaret will be donated directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
