This year the Sag Harbor venue has mounted a superb showing of the classic jazz era play The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald adapted for the stage by Simon Levy.

Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, adapted for the stage by Simon Levy, directed by Joe Minutillo and choreographed by Stephanie Vertichio. This is the tenth year of the Literature Live! program. Public performances are Thursday through Saturday, November 8 - 10, 15 - 17, and Thanksgiving weekend Friday- Sunday, November 23 - 25. The 2018 Stage Raw Theater Awards celebrate excellence on the Los Angeles stages in venues of 99-seats or under. This fourth annual edition includes productions that opened between January 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018.

An unforgettable love story inspired by one of the most romantic movies of all time. Stephen Sachs directs Deaf actors Deanne Bray (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Heroes) and Troy Kotsur (title role in Cyrano at the Fountain, Big River on Broadway) in Sachs' newest play, inspired by the screenplay for Noel Coward's Brief Encounter. The world premiere of Arrival & Departure will open on July 14 and continue through September 30 at the Fountain Theatre. The cast also features hearing actors Jessica Jade Andres, Adam Burch, Brian Robert Burns, Shon Fuller, Kyra Kotsur, Aurelia Myersand Stasha Surdyke.

A talented cast give their all, but Simon Levy's adaptation of the Great American Novel seems unsure of what it wants to be.

Director Simon Levy, who has won much acclaim for his current production of Chaim Potok's The Chosen at the Fountain Theatre, now brings his directorial insight on achieving assimilation into America to the Sierra Madre Playhouse's production of THE IMMIGRANT, written by Mark Harelik about his grandfather's struggle to survive as the only Jewish immigrant to settle in Hamilton, Texas in 1909. The play is a timely and touching meditation on parents and children, newcomers and natives, Christians and Jews, and on what it means to be an American.

The Chosen - A silent father, an ancient tradition and an unexpectedly important game of baseball forge bonds of lifelong friendship between two Jewish boys from "five blocks and a world apart" in this funny, poignant, timely and timeless father-son story about recognition and acceptance of "the other." LA & NY-based actor and author Tim Cummings was honored with his third Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC) Award on Monday, March 19th 2018 for his leading performance in The House in Scarsdale: A Memoir for the Stage, written by award-winning playwright, poet, and former Guggenheim fellow, Dan O'Brien.

In the wake of nearly two-dozen rave reviews and six weeks of sold-out houses, the Fountain Theatre has extended its run of The Chosenand increased performances from three to four per week. Adapted by Aaron Posner and Chaim Potok from Potok's bestselling novel of the same name, The Chosen will now continue through May 7.

When Danny, son of an ultra-Orthodox Hasidic rabbi, injures the more traditionally Orthodox Reuven during a baseball game between their rival yeshivas, their two universes collide and a unique friendship is born. "This powerful story shows how essential it is to consider the views of those who are different from us," says director Levy. "It's an antidote to the toxicity of our times. Potok beautifully depicts what it means to bridge chasms - between modernity and tradition, the secular and the sacred, Zionism and Hasidism, adolescence and adulthood, friendship and family, fathers and sons, the head and the heart, and the struggle to choose for ourselves, to fight for what we believe in and who we want to be."
