Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts celebrates distinguished American composer John Luther Adams with the William Schuman Award Concerts in a three-night series of New York premieres, each composed in honor of one of Adams' greatest influences.

Honoring the orchestra's 75th-anniversary season, Music Director Thierry Fischer and the Utah Symphony release their first recording together today, September 11, 2015, featuring a performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 'Titan,' recorded live in Maurice Abravanel Hall on September 12 and 13, 2014.

Honoring the orchestra's 75th-anniversary season, Music Director Thierry Fischer and the Utah Symphony release their first recording together on September 11, 2015, featuring a performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 "Titan," recorded live in Maurice Abravanel Hall on September 12 and 13, 2014.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts presents the 2015-16 opening night: 'RUN TIME ERROR', a composed program for strings, prepared bows, joysticks, whammy pedal and video, featuring Simon Steen-Andersen, composer & performer, and the JACK Quartet. 

The Spitfire Grill, a musical based on the 1986 film of the same name that was seen Off-Broadway in a production by Playwrights' Horizons at the Duke Theatre on 42nd Street in 2001, is receiving its U.K. premiere at London's Union Theatre. It began performances yesterday prior to an official opening tonight, July 24, for a run through August 15.

Utah Symphony Music Director Thierry Fischer and the Utah Symphony will record live performances of three world premiere commissions from American composers during the 2015 calendar year for release at a later date, starting with Augusta Read Thomas' world premiere of "EOS (Goddess of the Dawn), A Ballet for Orchestra" on February 20 and 21 in Abravanel Hall.

The Italian Academy hosts the inaugural concert of *The Stefan Wolpe Fund featuring world premieres and works by Charles Wuorinen, Jonathan Dawe, Matthew Greenbaum and William Anderson tonight, October 30th at 8pm. Also on the program, a New York premiere for string sextet by Charles Wuorinen. Featured artists: JACK Quartet, pianist Steven Beck, Vox n Plux, violist Miranda Cuckson and cellist Jay Campbell. This concert was produced by Zaidee Parkinson and Alanna Maharajh Stone with generous support from *The Roger Shapiro Fund for New Music.

The Utah Symphony is pleased to announce it has commissioned preeminent contemporary American composer Nico Muhly to write a piece of music for the Utah Symphony to be inspired by Southern Utah's national parks and landscapes. The commission will be performed during the 2015-16 season, coinciding with the 75th anniversary celebrations of the orchestra.

The Utah Symphony led by Music Director Thierry Fischer will tour Utah's red rock country, home to the state's five iconic national parks, in August 2014 with free outdoor performances surrounded by the landscape of Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Presented by the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation, The Mighty 5® Tour represents a collaboration between two of Utah's great treasures, the state's leading arts organization, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, and the unparalleled natural beauty of Utah's red rock country preserved within the five national parks, collectively known as "The Mighty 5."

The Green Room Awards took place at The Famous Spiegeltent in Melbourne last night, and global favorite MARY POPPINS led the night with a total of nine awards out of its twelve nominations. Yana Alana and the Paranas in Concert, a cabaret production, was a close second for total awards with six out of eight cabaret awards.
