Later this week, on March 22, Hadestown will begin preview performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre, ahead of a Wednesday, April 17 official opening night. Bay Area Cabaret welcomes Grammy nominated and three-time Tony-nominated Broadway star Joshua Henry in his Bay Area Cabaret debut on Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 pm. Mr. Henry will share 'unplugged' interpretations and musical mashups from some of his favorite musicals as well as soulful originals, R&B, and more.

From a fiery great-grandmother to an unborn child, AJUMA takes the audience on a journey that explores the sensations and emotions of escape, abuse, love and legacy. AJUMA will also be performed in the gallery of the Yonkers Riverfront Library, April 6th and 7th, with a preview celebrating women's history month at CERES gallery in NYC.

The NAACP today announced that mass media icon Tom Joyner will be honored with the Vanguard Award at the 50th NAACP Image Awards. The Vanguard Award is presented to a person whose groundbreaking work increases our understanding and awareness of racial and social issues. To date, the special award has been presented to Aretha Franklin, Clive Davis, surviving Memphis Sanitation Workers, Prince, Russell Simmons, Stanley Kramer, Steven Spielberg and Wyclef Jean. The 50th NAACP Image Awards will air during a LIVE TV special on TV One on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Anthony Anderson.
