Center for Jewish History Celebrates Book Launch of The Forward's HAVE I GOT A STORY FOR YOU

The Forward's published fiction is an artistic trove. For every Isaac Bashevis Singer – who contributed to the Forward for over 50 years – several important writers, many of them women, remained untranslated and unknown. Now, in “Have I Got a Story for You: More Than a Century of Fiction from the Forward,” 42 Yiddish-language stories are translated for the first time.

Author Releases New Psychological Novel, TABITHA BATES

The author decided to write his novel after being introduced, through study - into various treatments used in psychology. He then encapsulated these aspects, amongst other ghostly details, like spirit communication obtained through radio waves into his narrative. The plot begins with Jonathon Mayhew, a man afflicted with fears and phobias. However, these problems deepen when he takes possession of an antique chair. The chair's previous owner, Tabitha Bates, who died months earlier reveals her presence. She uses visions about World War II, Adolf Hitler, and mankind's most evil deeds to perturb Jonathon - while her ethereal voice manipulates The BBC World Service's radio waves - carrying it from the world of the dead. Deeply troubled Jonathon seeks out a psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Matthews. She's fascinated with Jonathon's case and is drawn into proceedings. And so with darkened atmospheric centrepieces and disturbing visions becoming more profound, both are hurtled into a web of diabolical secrets, murder, and are left wondering if either of them can survive the evil ghostly entity, Tabitha Bates. 'Toulane' hopes his novel will strike a chord with readers. 'I've always been interested in the workings of the mind,' he says, 'and after visiting the 'Sigmund Freud Museum' in London last year, it opened my eyes to the extensive history behind the subject.' Nathan Toulane has written three novels to date. He has contributed to numerous articles and blogs - and maintains a longstanding interest in theology, psychology and history. 'Tabitha Bates': ISBN-13 978-1537602523 Will be available from October 2014 to purchase in paperback through www.amazon.co.uk and www.amazon.com Bookstores should contact Createspace or Ingram for wholesale orders.
