FIDDLER ON THE ROOF W/ Chaim Topol As Tevye Plays 2/24-3/1

Fiddler on the Roof, the poignant Tony Award-winning musical starring Chaim Topol as Tevye in his farewell performance of the role he made famous, will play Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre Tuesday through Sunday Feb. 24-March 1, 2009. In this new national tour, Twin Cities audiences will have a rare opportunity to see Jerome Robbins' original Broadway direction and choreography, complete with Topol, the star of the original West End production and 1971 film. Individual tickets are on sale now. Fiddler on the Roof is presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust as part of its 2008-09 M&I Bank Broadway Across America-Minneapolis season.

Fiddler on the Roof Starring Topol Runs at Detroit Opera House March 3-8

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF starring Chaim Topol, the original star from the movie, will perform a one-week limited engagement at the Detroit Opera House, March 3- 8, 2009. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Opens National Tour In Providence 2/10

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, heralded as one of the great masterpieces in American Musical Theatre, is embarking on its National Tour, which will officially open in Providence. This landmark production, featuring the star of the original motion picture, Chaim Topol, in his farewell performances, will have two preview performances at the Dupont Theatre in Wilmington, Delaware before it begins a multi-city tour that kicks off officially on February 10 at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is a family musical about the bonds that hold husbands and wives and parents and children together in times of hardship and times of joy. In what is a huge theatrical feat, PPAC audiences will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Chaim Topol play Tevye for the last time in his farewell performances of the award-winning role that made him legendary in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Topol joins this tour on the heels of a successful, short tour in the South Pacific. After first playing the role of Tevye onstage in 1967, Topol starred in the film version, garnering a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar nomination in the Best Actor category. In 1983, he reprised the role of Tevye in a London revival and in 1990 he again played the part in a Broadway revival, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF performance times are Tuesday, February 10 at 7:00P, Wednesday, February 11 at 7:30P, Thursday, February 12 at 7:30P, Friday, February 13 at 8:00P, Saturday, February 14 at 2:00P & 8:00P, and Sunday, February 15 at 1:00 & 6:30P. MADE ME NUCLEAR Will Extend For An Additional Eight Weeks

The critically acclaimed Made Me Nuclear, now in its fifth month, is extending for an additional eight weeks. Charlie Lustman's original pop music operetta about surviving cancer is 'simply irresistible' says the LA Times. This 'feel good cancer musical' (LAT) is an 'inspiring' tale that will 'grab you in a bear hug right away and not let go. 'Touching...life-affirming...his songs are pitched in an intimate, jazzy, bluesy style,' says the LA Weekly. WHO: Written and Performed by Singer/Songwriter Charlie Lustman. Lustman grew up in LA and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music; he spent ten years touring the world performing and released two studio albums in Denmark: The Golden Road, vol.1 and SHAYA. He also wrote and performed live the theme song to the ABC TV program 'The Mike and Maty show.' He is perhaps best known to Los Angeles audiences for his role in rescuing and reopening The Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, the last remaining silent cinema in the world, which he turned into a one-of-a-kind successful working revival theatre lauded by film buffs globally. In 2006, after being diagnosed with a rare cancer in his upper jaw he sold the theatre and returned to his first passion -music. Writing and composing throughout his treatment and recovery he produced his third studio album, Made Me Nuclear, arguably the first pop music album about surviving cancer. Released in July 2008 'a-dollar-a-disc' will be donated to The Sarcoma Alliance, the only national organization dedicated to helping those afflicted with this rare disease. Made Me Nuclear, the Operetta, now in its fifth month, is the theatrical adaptation of the album arguably the first pop operetta about surviving cancer. Directed by Chris DeCarlo. DeCarlo has been directing, writing and acting in Los Angeles for over 40 years and is acknowledged for his critically acclaimed crafting of world and American premiere productions by such renowned playwrights as Michel Garneau, Stephen King, Brenda Krantz, Robert B. Parker, Sheila Rae, Annie Reiner, Sammy Shore, Robert Waldman, David Williamson, and Lois Wyse, including five of Playwright Jerry Mayer's plays. He has directed more than 200 plays on three continents, from the Henry Street Settlement Theatre in New York to the Dream Factory in Warwickshire and the gargantuan Hitomi Memorial Hall in Tokyo. As a performer, DeCarlo has created more than 300 roles, with over 10,000 on-stage performances. Over a quarter of a million people have been touched by his award-winning characterization of Yiddish humorist Sholom Aleichem.
