Producer Cedric Yau has announced that James Seol will step into the 17 roles originated by Jimmy Ray Bennett in Around the World in 80 Days, beginning Tuesday, September 17th. Bennett's last performance will be Sunday, September 15th at 7pm. The Off-Broadway Production of Around the World in 80 Days, produced by Cedric Yau & the YOW! Theater Company, has changed their schedule for the summer following their opening on May 30, 2013 at The New Theater at 45th Street. Around the World in 80 Days is a play by Mark Brown, based on the novel by Jules Verne & is an open-ended run.
The last time Mark Brown's charming and witty stage adaptation of Jules Verne's Around The World In 80 Days played Off-Broadway, it was in a pocket-sized production highlighted by a pair of on-stage Foley artists providing live sound effects. But in the eye-popping new Off-Broadway production, director/designer Rachel Klein is working with considerably larger pockets.
A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry's drama, will extend its performance schedule through March 9th at Palm Beach Dramaworks' Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street).
