New Picture Book, OLIVER'S HUNGER DRAGON, is Released

This fully illustrated picture book, aimed at young readers from age 5 to 8 years of age, highlights the problem of hunger. According to Feeding America 15.9 million American children live in'food insecure households.' Children who face hunger experience tiredness, a lack of concentration, poor problem solving skills, and are often too embarrassed to ask for help. 'Oliver's Hunger Dragon' draws attention to these children by depicting hunger as a dragon who follows Oliver everywhere, and how letting people know about Hunger can bring about a change for the better. Author, Sherry Alexander, hopes this book will bring awareness to the plight of children across America. A portion of all proceeds for this book will go to the Clark County WA Food Bank, Feeding America, and the Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division to support their efforts to feed kids. Illustrated by Amy Rottinger, this book is released through Halo International Publishing as both an ebook and a print book to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other ebook retailers.

Astonished. Demanded. Surprised. These few simple words ignite the provocative action in Peninsula Players Theatre Midwest premiere of Richard Strand's equally enthralling BUTLER. BWW Blog: Libby Servais of Transcendence Theatre Company's 'Broadway Under the Stars' - Music of the Night

After Ben Vereen's legendary show here at Transcendence Theatre Company, we TTC artists are continuously reflecting on the cherished wisdom and inspiration that Ben has left deeply rooted into our hearts. One moment in particular that I continue to think about is when I asked Ben if he was excited for his show and he replied with a gigantic grin and both hands in the air, 'I wake up excited! Everyday!' I also surrendered my hands into the air and said 'Me too!' And then I realized that I was standing outside a vineyard of grapes, giggling with Ben Vereen about how we must live each day to the fullest... Later he also shared with our company, 'Don't knock em' dead. They're already dead, knock em' into life!' Those epic words will stick with me forever. Basically, when I grow up, I want to be like Ben Vereen!
