Following the October 9 US Supreme Court decision to uphold North Dakota's new voter ID law, Native American organizations have organized a free concert to help get out the vote. The event will feature Dave Matthews, Mark Ruffalo and Native American performers such as Auntie Beachress, Lakota Thunder and the Dancers of the Northern Plains, Scotti Clifford & Spirits Cry, and Prolific the Rapper. The law, upheld by the Supreme Court just weeks before the election, requires that all IDs used at the polls include a street address - thereby disenfranchising the many Native American voters who only have a P.O. Box on their tribal identification cards.

Actress Maggie Q will receive the World Tourism Humanitarian Award on November 5, 2018, the opening day of World Travel Market (WTM) London, at the ExCel Centre. Maggie Q will be presented the award as part of the annual World Tourism Awards ceremony sponsored by Corinthia Hotels, The New York Times, United Airlines and host sponsor Reed Travel Exhibitions. Peter Greenberg, CBS News Travel Editor and world renowned travel expert, will host the Award presentation.

Xiuhtezcatl (pronounced Shoe-Tez-Caht), young and progressive hip-hop artist, made it into the public eye as an activist speaking out on critical issues including climate change and Indigenous rights. He also performed and supported the Standing Rock movement. When he first started to write bars, he initially meant them to be a creative outlet for his activism.  Xiuhtezcatl recalls “I saw this album serving as a call to action for the world. Calling my generation to overcome the limitations and boundaries our broken world has placed on us. Calling on our communities to break free from the oppression and injustice that we face.” But as the album and tracks progressed the artistic process took hold, and became less about his work as an activist, and more of a reflection of Xiuhtezcatl's growth and self-discovery as a young man and an artist. Xiuhtezcatl is due to release his powerful debut album, Break Free, on October 5th.

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) today announced the 2018 honorees to be recognized at the 21st annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival, taking place Oct. 27-Nov. 3. Now the largest university-run film festival in the country, the annual tribute to excellence in film has screened over 110 Oscar-nominated films and honored over 80 legendary actors, directors, producers, writers and filmmakers from around the world.

According to Deadline, Reese Witherspoon's female-focused Hello Sunshine shingle is about to put the Oscar winner's inaugural unscripted series on a video-on-demand channel with AT&T.

The second and final wave of TEEN CHOICE TM 2018 nominees have been announced and music artists Cardi B and Selena Gomez lead with four nominations each. In film, "The Greatest Showman," "Black Panther" and "Solo: A Star Wars Story" each received four nods. "Riverdale" leads in television with seven nominations, while "Stranger Things" follows with five and "The Bold Type" with four.

The New York Public Library is joining forces with HBO on #ReadingIsLit, a national campaign to celebrate the written word, the power of storytelling and encourage people to read, talk about, and enjoy all things literary.

According to Deadline, P.J. Byrne is set to return to the hit HBO series BIG LITTLE LIES for the second season. He is returning in a reprisal of his role Principal Nippal. Byrne returns to the cast consisting of Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, Adam Scott and Laura Dern, James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling and Iain Armitage. The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) announced the winners of the 43 rd annual Gracie Awards to take place May 22 at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. The event will recognize such esteemed honorees as Ashley Judd, Billie Jean King, Claire Danes, Elizabeth Marvel, Hoda Kotb, Issa Rae, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Katie Couric, Megan Mullally, Pam Oliver, Reese Witherspoon, and Shirley Strawberry, along with some of the most talented women in television, radio and digital media. Local and student award winners will be recognized at the Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 27 at Cipriani in New York City.

According to Variety, the cast for "Big Little Lies" continues to grow.The second season of the HBO drama is bringing back Kathryn Newton as Abigail Carlson, Robin Weigert as Dr. Amanda Reisman, Sarah Sokolovic as Tori Bachman, and Merrin Dungey as Detective Adrienne Quinlan. In addition, Newton and Sokolovic have been upped to series regulars while Dungey and Weigert will recur. Season 2 will also see the additions of Crystal Fox as Elizabeth Howard, and Mo McRae as Michael Perkins. Fox will be a series regular and McRae will recur.

According to Deadline, actor Douglas Smith is set to join the cast of HBO's BIG LITTLE LIES when it returns its second season. He will play a new character named Corey Brockfield, who works with Shailene Woodley's Jane. He joins season two with the previously announced Meryl Streep. Nominations for the 2017 RAZZIES were announced today with ZOOLANDER 2 and BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE leading the pack. Winners will be announced on March 3rd, just one day before the Academy Awards.
