Profiles Theatre Announces Extension for ASSISTED LIVING

Profiles Theatre announces the third and final extension for their hit world premiere of Assisted Living by Deirdre O'Connor, directed by Profiles Artistic Director Joe Jahraus. The critically acclaimed production has been extended an additional four weeks, through March 18, 2012, at Profiles alternate venue The Second Stage, 3408 N. Sheffield in Chicago.

La Jolla Playhouse presents American Night: The Ballad of Juan José, written by Richard Montoya (Zorro in Hell) for Culture Clash, developed by Culture Clash and Jo Bonney (The Seven, Adoration of the Old Woman), directed by Jo Bonney. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and originally commissioned and produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, American Night: The Ballad of Juan José will run through February 26, 2012 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. DCTC Announces Colorado New Play Summit Lineup

The Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) today announced of the lineup of playwrights and directors for its Seventh Annual Colorado New Play Summit. Over three days, February 10 -12, 2012 in downtown Denver, DCTC will present multiple showings of four play readings, a multimedia workshop and two fully-produced main stage plays, including new works by Pulitzer nominee Lisa Loomer, 2011 Obie winner Samuel D. Hunter, and direction by Broadway veterans Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime) and Sam Buntrock (Sunday in the Park with George).

Now considered a prominent venue for award winning theatre, Culture Project had its humble beginnings in a former piano manufacturing factory on East 91st Street. It then moved to a lumberyard at 45 Bleecker Street which it converted into a two-theater performing arts center with Bombitty of Errors and And God Created Great Whales as its initial attractions. Now Culture Project has officially returned to 45 Bleecker making it its permanent home, and will present And God Created Great Whales, the innovative piece that launched the Culture Project into prominence over a decade ago.
Les Waters Bids Berkley Rep Adieu With Production of RED, 3/22 - 4/29

The Broadway play Red comes to Berkeley Repertory Theatre in March, staged as a valedictory by Obie Award-winner Les Waters as he departs the Bay Area to take the reins at Actors Theatre of Louisville. John Logan, the Oscar-nominated author of Aviator and Gladiator, won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for this feverish 90-minute drama. Now Waters and two exceptional actors bring this powerful play to local audiences. Red begins previews on the intimate Thrust Stage on March 16, opens March 22, and runs through April 29.

CAPSULE JUDGMENT: IN ARABIA WE'D ALL BE KINGS gets an impressive production and is a perfect vehicle to open CPH's new Lab Theatre. Due to its language and subject matter, it's not a play for everyone, but those interested in having an up-front emotionally involving theatrical theatre experience, should definitely see this production.

ONE Healing Arts COMPANY and Demos Bizar Entertainment present SPRING ALIVE! a world premiere interactive theatrical experience starring Broadway performer and recording artist Spring Groove (Bway: Grease, Saturday Night Fever). Musical Director Alex Navarro leads a band, including musicians Greg Burrows, Jordan Jancz, and David Finch with singers Sherez Aletaha and Saum Eskandani. Dancers will be announced shortly. Performances for SPRING ALIVE! will be held from March 2-25, 2012 on Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm at Dixon Place, 161 Chrystie Street (between Delancey and Rivington) in Manhattan's Lower East Side.
