Happy Medium Theatre Presents ELECTION DAY 2/9-18

Happy Medium Theatre, Inc. (HMT) will present Election Day, written by Josh Tobiessen and directed by Lizette M. Morris. The production runs February, 9th – 18th at the Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118.

It’s Election Day, and Adam knows his over-zealous girlfriend will never forgive him if he fails to vote. But when his sex starved sister, an eco-terrorist, and a mayoral candidate willing to do anything for a vote all show up, Adam finds that making that quick trip to the polls might be harder than he thought. Election Day is a hilarious dark comedy about the price of political (and personal) campaigns.

The cast will feature 5 up-and-coming Boston Fringe Theatre actors: Mike Budwey (Cyrano de Bergerac, Apollinaire Theatre), Sean A. Cote (Junkie, Argos Productions), Andy Hicks (Dracula, Theater@First), E. Abigail Matzeder (The Country Club, Happy Medium Theatre), and Lesley Anne Moreau (The Gingerbread Lady, Happy Medium Theatre).

Ms. Morris (The Effect of Gamma Rays…, Happy Medium Theatre) will be assisted by Audrey Lynn Sylvia (The Country Club, Happy Medium Theatre) and Elizabeth Battey (MilkMilkLemonade, Heart & Dagger Productions).

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:

Originally from Schenectady, NY, Josh Tobiessen starting writing plays in Ireland with a theatre company called ‘Catastrophe’ before returning to the States to get a playwriting degree at UCSD. Theatres that have produced or developed his work include: The ALLIANCE THEATRE, The O’Neill New Play Conference, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Second Stage Theatre.

HMT is dedicated to bridging the gap between professionalism and fun in the Boston Theatre Scene. In other words, we strive to put on the highest quality artistic work while having a damn good time doing so.
