This spring, Underscore Theatre Company, Chicago's new musical theatre company, announces the world premiere performance of "Liberal Arts: The Musical!" at The Second Stage.

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced that it will present the musical Pippin as part of its 2012 - 13 Season. The production will be directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main, also known as 7 Fingers. Performances will begin in December 2012 at the Loeb Drama Center, Cambridge.

A Red Orchid Theatre presents the world premiere of The Butcher of Baraboo, written by Marisa Wegrzyn and directed by Artistic Associate Shade Murray. The production will run April 5 - May 20, 2012 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Press Opening is Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 7:00PM.

Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan in association with Playwrights' Playground NYC is presenting the world premiere of FLIGHT by Michel Wallerstein, Off Broadway at the DR 2 Theatre, 103 East 15th Street - off Union Square. Previews began Friday, March 2nd and Opening Wednesday, March 7th for the limited engagement, through April 1 2pm matinee.

Geva Theatre Center's 2012 Nextstage Season kicks off with I Got Sick Then I Got Better, written and performed by Jenny Allen which begins performances on March 7 and runs in the Fielding Nextstage through March 11.

Zoe Lister-Jones (The Little Dog Laughed, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, her own Codependence Is a Four-Letter Word, Salt, Breaking Upwards, NBC's "Whitney," Fox Searchlight's upcoming Lola Versus) will join Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Jeff Goldblum (The Pillowman, Jurassic Park, Independence Day, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent") and Film and Television star Justin Long (He's Just Not That Into You, The Break Up, Live Free or Die Hard, Dodgeball, "Ed") beginning Tuesday, April 3 in the cast of the Broadway season's hit comedy SEMINAR by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, Omnium Gatherum, "NYBD Blue," NBC's new hit series "Smash").

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company (Carl Forsman, Artistic Director/Damon Chua, Executive Director) will present John Cunningham, Kathleen Chalfant and Kate Turnbull in Tina Howe's Painting Churches, the 1983 Pulitzer Prize finalist. Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, and The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR, announce the third event in the series, TCG Playwrights in Conversation: Discussions and Readings - In Conversation with Anne Bogart. In celebration of TCG's 50th anniversary, four events featuring conversations with TCG authors and featured artists are being presented at The Greene Space, WNYC and WQXR's innovative broadcast studio and performance venue.

Musical Director Alex Navarro leads a band, including musicians Greg Burrows, Jordan Jancz, and David Finch with singers Sherez Aletaha and Saum Eskandani. Dancers will be announced shortly. Performances for SPRING ALIVE! will be held from March 2-25, 2012 on Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm at Dixon Place, 161 Chrystie Street (between Delancey and Rivington) in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

American actor Zach Braff (Scrubs and Garden State) just made his UK stage acting debut in a new comedy, All New People. The witty play, written by Braff, will be directed by award-winning Peter DuBois. All New People opened at the Duke of York's Theatre on 22 February 2012. Check out photos from opening night below!
