The producers of the new musical Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) and featuring music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, have just announced compete casting and an award-winning design team.

Produced by the St. Louis Actors' Studio, the LaBUTE NEW THEATER FESTIVAL, an evening of one-act plays, features the NYC premieres of short plays by Gabe McKinley, CaRy Pepper, and Adam Seidel as well as a world premiere short play by Neil LaBute.

OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's (A.R.T.) second stage and club theater venue, presents the I.D. Festival - a festival exploring gender identity and celebrating the diverse experiences of the trans community.

As previously announced, Fran Drescher - the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actress and noted Barbra Streisand fan - will serve as celebrity host when Maestro Luke Frazier and The American Pops Orchestra present Don't Rain on My Parade: 75 Years of Barbra Streisand tonight, January 13, 2017 at 8:00 PM.

The Old Globe today announced it will present the fourth annual New Voices Festival-with a new moniker: the Powers New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by professional playwrights, playing January 13 - 15, 2017.

Abingdon Theatre Company kicks off 2017 with a limited engagement of THE DORK KNIGHT, a new play written and performed by Jason O'Connell (star of Bedlam's recent Off-Broadway hit Sense and Sensibility) about his complicated relationship with the Caped Crusader. Performances run through January 29, as part of Abingdon's new Second Stage Series featuring immediate and immersive new works. The New Group presents the world premiere of All the Fine Boys, a new play from writer and director Erica Schmidt, featuring Abigail Breslin, Isabelle Fuhrman, Joe Tippett and Alex Wolff.

DRIVING MISS DAISY opens at Artisan Center Theater today, January 12, 2017 and runs through Saturday, January 28, 2017. 

On February 13, Tympanic Theatre Company will open WAITING FOR GODOT by Samuel Beckett.

Chris McCarrell, will star in a brand-new production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical this March at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

When Jack, a New York banker, suddenly shows up at his parents' Cincinnati home in the middle of the night with a sack full of ice cream and no wife, his sister Lorna wants to know what's going on. Where's his socialite wife? Is he home for good? And why is he giving away so much money? Theresa Rebeck's (Bad Dates, Dragon 2011) dark comedy examines the conflict between Main Street and Wall Street, flyover state values versus coastal state values, and the humor within a family in turmoil. 

Drury Lane Theatre announces complete casting for disco musical Saturday Night Fever, rewritten for the Drury Lane stage, featuring music and lyrics by The Bee Gees, based on the smash-hit Paramount/RSO Film and the story by Nik Cohn, and adapted for the stage by Robert Stigwood in collaboration with Bill Oaks. This North American version was written by Sean Cercone and David Abbinantiand is helmed by Tony-nominated director and choreographer Dan Knechtges. Saturday Night Fever runs January 19 - March 19, 2017 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The Press Opening is Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. A portion of the opening night tickets sales will be donated to ArtReach, a nonprofit providing access to the arts to underserved communities in the Chicago area.
