Max Stafford-Clark Announces Departure From Out Of Joint

After 23 years of groundbreaking work and having led its recent successful four year funding application to the Arts Council of England Max Stafford-Clark announces today his intention to leave Out of Joint to focus on his international freelance career.

2017 Adelaide Writers' Week Full Program Announced

Abbey Theatre's QUIETLY Extends at Irish Rep

Irish Repertory Theatre, in association with The Public Theater, announced an extension for the US premiere of the Abbey Theatre's production of QUIETLY.

Fishamble: The New Play Company to Bring LITTLE THING, BIG THING to 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome the return of Fishamble: The New Play Company (Dublin, Ireland) with the US premiere of LITTLE THING, BIG THING written by Donal O'Kelly and directed by Jim Culleton. Part of Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival, LITTLE THING, BIG THING begins performances on Wednesday, September 2 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 27.  Press opening is Tuesday, September 8 at 7:15 PM.  The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $35 ($24.50 for 59E59 Members). CROUCH, TOUCH, PAUSE, ENGAGE Coming to Arcola Theatre

Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage - the critically-acclaimed play about Gareth Thomas, the first professional rugby player to come out while still playing - comes to Arcola Theatre this spring (20 May - 20 June 2015) following its current tour. Directed by Max Stafford-Clark, and written by Robin Soans, the play is a co-production by Out of Joint, National Theatre Wales and Arcola Theatre.

Lebanese Theater Artist Rabih Mroue Return to the US with 33 RPM AND A FEW SECONDS Tonight

Asia Society, PEN World Voices Festival and Performance Space 122 present the New York City premiere of 33 RPM and a Few Seconds, a brave new work by Lebanese theater artists Rabih Mroue and Lina Saneh, as part of the 10th Annual PEN World Voices Festival. A multi-media theater performance devoid of actors, 33 RPM and a Few Seconds reconstructs the final moments of a life after the suicide of a young Lebanese man.

A COUPLE OF BLAGUARDS Plays Harris Center, Now thru 4/27

Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angela's Ashes, and bestseller Tis, Frank McCourt, and his brother Malachy, also a successful author, joined talents to write an autobiographical account of their years growing up in poverty in Ireland, A Couple of Blaguards. Though times were tough in Limerick, the tales spun by the brothers McCourt simmer with bittersweet recollections, ferocious humor and a parade of colorful characters from the priest who warns of sinners' eyeballs exploding in hell to the McCourt grandmother who spits on Franks unruly Presbyterian hair to tame it.
