Flyaway Productions Premieres Chapter Two Of DECARCERATION TRILOGY In October

Flyaway Productions has announced the world premiere of MEET US QUICKLY WITH YOUR MERCY, the second in a trilogy of outdoor aerial public art performances addressing the devastating effects of mass incarceration. Meet Us Quickly is presented in partnership with the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) and through CounterPulse's curated co-production program.

Jacob's Pillow Announces 2020 Winter/Spring Season

Jacob's Pillow announces public events held January through May in its Winter/Spring season, featuring co-presentations with local cultural partners; Pillow Parties; workshops and classes; Pillow Pop-Ups; and more. Events take place January through May on the Pillow's 220-acre campus in Becket, MA and across Berkshire County. As the Pillow continues to advance its five year strategic plan, Vision '22, the organization increasingly activates its local and national presence by expanding programming and extending resources beyond its acclaimed summer dance festival.

Deborah Slater Dance Theater Concludes InCIVILITY Series At ODC Theater

Deborah Slater Dance Theater (DSDT) is proud to announce the world premiere of INCIVILITY P. 3: A SEAT AT THE TABLE, February 27 a?" March 1, 2020 at ODC Theater. A Seat at the Table is the third and final section of the company's acclaimed inCIVILITY series. Joining the program will be part two of the series, Outrage Machine. Tickets, $20 - $50, are now on sale at odc.dance/incivility. InCIVILITY is co-presented by ODC Theater.

S.F.'s Flyaway Productions Performs Outside Sing Sing Correctional Facility

San Francisco's Flyaway Productions is proud to announce the East Coast premiere of THE WAIT ROOM, a performance installation that exposes the physical, psychic, and emotional burden of incarceration for women with imprisoned loved ones.  Choreography is by Jo Kreiter, recipient of a 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship and the first choreographer named as a Robert Rauschenberg Foundation 2017 Artist as Activist Fellow.   Four performances, September 20-22, in Louis Engel Park, an outdoor site next to Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York. .   

Players Guild Of Dearborn Opens HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: HIGH SCHOOL EDITION

Heathers: The Musical (High School Edition) is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather's aerobicized butt... but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

Jo Kreiter Launches THE DECARCERATION TRILOGY in April 2019

Flyaway Productions is proud to announce the world premiere of THE WAIT ROOM, a site-specific dance honoring women with incarcerated loved ones. The Wait Room runs April 19 - 27, 2019, at 1125 Market Street, a vacant lot opposite United Nations Plaza at the Civic Center, with six performances at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 19 - 20, 26 - 27, and Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 - 25. Two additional matinees will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 and 27. All performances are free with no advance reservation required.

Le Petit Theatre Extends A CHRISTMAS CAROL!

Le Petit Theatre is kicking-off the holiday season with their first-annual production of Charles Dickens' beloved tale, A Christmas Carol. In addition to spreading holiday cheer, the company intends to make this production a perennial favorite for generations of New Orleanians. Most everyone knows the classic tale of miserly and menacing moneylender Ebenezer Scrooge, but not everyone has experienced watching him learn lessons in love, generosity, and redemption live and in person as he is visited by a host of spirits on Christmas Eve. This production is filled with magic, ghosts, glorious costumes, a stunning set design, and holiday cheer.

Sierra Repertory Theatre Presents MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

Sierra Repertory Theatre continues its 2018 Season with Million Dollar Quartet, the high voltage Broadway musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for one unforgettable night of musical magic. Million Dollar Quartet? is directed by Michael Ray Wisely,? music directed by Mark Seiver, ?and will feature a cast of actor/musicians playing instruments live onstage as their iconic characters. This production plays at the Historic Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Park.

Jo Kreiter's Newest Aerial Dance Opens In San Francisco's Tenderloin This June

In partnership with the Tenderloin Museum, Flyaway Productions is proud to announce the world premiere of TENDER (n.): A PERSON WHO TAKES CHARGE, a site-specific aerial dance celebrating 100 years of "outcast activism" in the Tenderloin. Tender runs June 7 - 16 at the Cadillac Hotel, located at 380 Eddy Street, with performances at 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A matinee performance at 12:30 p.m. will take place on Friday, June 8 and 15. Two additional performances at 9:30 p.m. will take place on Saturday, June 9 and 16. All performances are free, as is admission to the Museum, located on the ground floor of the Cadillac Hotel, during each performance.

Set in 1950s Washington, D.C. this Noir tale spotlights a young Korean War vet who sets out to solve a murder and becomes entangled in a web of family history. He is unsettled by another death-a young Jewish woman whose last words haunt him and his investigation.  Edward P. Jones evokes a neighborhood of vivid characters, telling a story about the strength of family and the choices that shape our lives.
