Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce Tony Award winner Garry Hynes will direct the upcoming production of EQUIVOCATION which is a part of Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming 2009-2010 Off-Broadway season at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

John Douglas Thompson -- OBIE and Lucille Lortel Award-winning actor for last season's acclaimed revival of OTHELLO -- returns to Off-Broadway in the Irish Repertory Theatre's 2009-2010 season opener, THE EMPEROR JONES by Eugene O'Neill, with previews set to begin October 7, prior to its official press opening October 18 at The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in Manhattan.

Exiene Lofgren's BE A MAN!!!, directed by Grant Kretchik will be premiered at this year's New York International Fringe Festival. Just in time for the holiday season, The New York Public Library will display Charles Dickens personal prompt copy of his classic tale A Christmas Carol from December 5, 2008 through January 4, 2009 in the free display A Literary Christmas Miscellany which includes a selection of holiday material from the Henry W. and Albert A. Berg Collection of English and American Literature. The display is on view in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library's Rose Main Reading Room located at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Mara Manus) announced that KICKING A DEAD HORSE, a new play written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard and featuring Tony Award nominee Stephen Rea, has extended its run by two weeks. Following a sold-out run at Ireland's Abbey Theatre, it will preview at The Public on Wednesday, June 25 and run through Sunday, August 10 with an official press opening on Monday, July 14 at 7 PM.

The Public Theater concludes its 2007-2008 downtown season with the U.S. premiere of 'Kicking a Dead Horse', a new play written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard and featuring Tony Award nominee Stephen Rea.

Tony Award-winner Victoria Clark will be joined by Conrad John Schuck, Dermot Crowley, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Michael Arden in Marc Blitzstein and Joseph Stein's Juno, the second Encores! production of New York City Center's 2008 season. Directed by Tony Award- winner Garry Hynes with guest music direction by Eric Stern and choreography by Warren Carlyle, Juno will play for five performances, from March 27 - 30, at New York City Center, West 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). This will be the first production since the original Broadway staging in 1959 to use the original orchestration by Blitzstein, Hershey Kay and Robert Russell Bennett.
