1812 Productions, Philadelphia's all comedy theatre company, is pleased to present its ninth annual gala fundraiser Eventa du Schmancy featuring 1812 Productions' signature Bad Song Cabaret. Hosted by Philadelphia favorite Scott Greer, The Bad Song Cabaret showcases a collection of some of the worst pop songs performed by Philadelphia's funniest performers. With material ranging from The Shangri-Las and Diana Ross to Sir Mix-A-Lot and Taylor Swift, The Bad Song Cabaret will feature performances by the master of ceremonies, Scott Greer, 1812 Productions' Producing Artistic Director Jennifer Childs, Langston Darby, Aaron Cromie, Tabitha Allen, Tracie Higgins, Alex Bechtel, Dave Jadico, Andrew Nelson, and Chris Hajinian.

Pearce Bunting (Boardwalk Empire), Catharine Slusar, Emilie Krause and Jake Blouch take the stage in this cultural landmark that has been riveting audiences for over 50 years and ruthlessly tears down the facade of the American family. Previews begin on Thursday, April 16, 2015 and opening night is Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 8:00pm. The show runs for a total of 32 performances through Sunday, May 17, 2015. Theatre Exile puts into question the plausibility of the American dream during its 2014-2015 season with two Philadelphia Premiere's and one modern classic. Philadelphia's 'risk-taking specialists' will perform their first two shows at the company's home at Studio X (13th and Reed Sts.). The Arden Theatre Company just opened the world premiere of a new translation of THREE SISTERS. Curt Columbus translates this play, originally written by Anton Chekhov. The Arden Theatre calls this new translation, "audacious, alive, and contemporary." I would have to agree with this, THREE SISTERS is a contemporary retelling of Chekhov's beloved play, but it also keeps with the tradition of Chekhov. The Arden's production is bold and honest with a strong cast.

Nationally acclaimed artists Mary McDonnell, David Strathairn, and Victor Williams will join longtime company members and various newcomers on our stages. They will perform iconic works by August Wilson, Anton Chekhov, and Neil Simon, new plays by Bruce Graham, Bill Cain, and Jessica Dickey, and our new holiday panto by Pete Pryor and Samantha Bellomo. We will transport audiences to Merlin's Middle Ages, Ranyevskaya's changing Russia, 19th & 21st Century Gettysburg, and Lou's Bar in today's South Philly.
