Walnut Street Theatre concludes its landmark 203rd season with an all-new production of Broadway's BUDDY: THE Buddy Holly STORY. Directed and choreographed by Casey Hushion, the show opens tonight, May 23rd, and runs through July 15th on the WST Mainstage. Christopher Sutton (Buddy), says this is the first time in the history of the Walnut Street Theatre that the same actor has played the same role twice. The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia's 2011 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre took place on Wednesday, October 3, 2011! The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 66 voters who each saw 8 of the 147 shows nominated this year. Four additional awards-Excellence in Theatre Education and Community Service Award, the Ted and Stevie Wolf Award for New Approaches to Collaborations, Brown Martin Philadelphia Award and the F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Philadelphia Theatre Artist-will also be distributed at the ceremony.

Directed by associate artistic director Matt Pfeiffer, and starring Scott Greer, Brian Anthony Wilson, Brian McCann and Harry Philibosian, the reading will be on Monday, October 10th, 2011, at 7pm in Studio X at 1340 South 13th St.
