South Coast Repertory Presents HOW TO WRITE A NEW BOOK FOR THE BIBLE, 10/19-11/18
by Sierra Fox
- Oct 1, 2012
Bill Cain's 'How to Write a New Book for the Bible,' an autobiographical tale about family, a son's devotion, and a mother's love comes to South Coast Repertory from October 19 through November 18. It is directed by Kent Nicholson. 'How to Write a New Book for the Bible' follows the story of Bill, who comes home to take care of his octogenarian mother, Mary. Many times she's maddening, but she's always funny as the family's story unfolds through flashbacks.
BWW Reviews: Seattle Rep's CLYBOURNE PARK Features Strong Ensemble
by Jay Irwin
- Apr 26, 2012
Sometimes I don't think we in Seattle know how culturally lucky we are. We have amazing theaters that give us new and exciting works sometimes even as tryouts on their way to Broadway. But now the Seattle Rep has pulled off a new one as we are getting Bruce Norris' thrilling new work "Clybourne Park" here even though it just opened on Broadway last week. And if that weren't enough for us to thank our lucky stars, add into that the all around stunning production of this new work with its sublime cast and we may come to realize just how much the theater Gods are smiling down upon us.

SCORCHED Moves Audiences Now Through March 11th
by Linda Hodges and Nick Hodges
- Mar 3, 2012
Provocative. If there was one word to describe this show it would be that; provocative. A.C.T.'s Scorched is a bizarre and powerful look into the repercussions of a drawn out war and how it changed lives in the past, as well as its continued effect on the lives of the living.

BWW Reviews: HOW TO WRITE A NEW BOOK FOR THE BIBLE at the Seattle Rep
by Jay Irwin
- Jan 26, 2012
There are certain authors whose shows I never miss if possible. Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Terrence McNally, and Howard Ashman to name just a few. These are people whose work I rank among my favorites for the richness and compassion in their writing. Well, after yet another stunning work such as "How to Write a New Book for the Bible", currently playing at the Seattle Rep, I think I have another new favorite in Bill Cain.
