The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathered yesterday, May 20th, for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). David Zinn has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Play for Roundabout Theatre Company's THE HUMANS. 

The New York Drama Critics' Circle just presented its 2015-2016 Best Play and Best Musical: Stephen Karam's THE HUMANS and George C. Wolfe, Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle's SHUFFLE ALONG, OR THE MAKING OF THE MUSICAL SENSATION OF 1921 AND ALL THAT FOLLOWED. The selections were made at the organization's 81st annual voting meeting.

Tonight, May 16 (7:30pm) LC Dialogues, a series of illuminating conversations on creativity and craft, will feature Artist to Artist with Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Steele at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center (Broadway between 62nd and 63rd). This event is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

On Monday, May 9, Roundabout Theatre Company will host their second annual Casino Night, at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd St). All proceeds benefit Roundabout Theatre Company's many programs, including the Education programs and the Musical Theatre Fund.

When it debuted, THE EFFECT took London by storm, winning Best New Play from the UK Critics' Circle. Now, award-winning director David Cromer (Our Town, Tribes) helms a new American production of this exhilarating play in the first collaboration between The National Theatre, Jean Doumanian Productions, and Barrow Street Theatre. This production marks the off-Broadway producing debut for The National Theatre when it premiered on Sunday, March 20th 2016.

Scott Rudin and Barry Diller will present the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes Artistic Director) production of Stephen Karam's much-raved-about new play, The Humans, on Broadway this season, following its smash-hit Off-Broadway engagement.  Directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and featuring its entire acclaimed current Off-Broadway cast, The Humans will begin performances at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street) on Saturday, January 23, 2016, and open officially on Thursday, February 18.
