Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, on the verge of turning the big 3-0, is excited to announce the lineup of plays for the 30th Season (2009-10). Featured are a World Premiere by Danai Gurira (In the Continuum), exciting new works from Mike Daisey (If You See Something Say Something), Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), and Bruce Norris (The Unmentionables), and a large-scale work by Charles L. Mee (Big Love). In addition, Woolly Mammoth?s favorite out-of-town troupe, The Neo-Futurists, returns to DC for an unprecedented fourth engagement of their hit show, Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind in December.

Universal Pictures recorded its biggest year ever for the second year in a row with global theatrical grosses totaling $2.834 billion for 2008. Universal's domestic box-office tally of $1.12 billion outpaced the record it previously set in 2007, which was $1.099 billion.
High School Musical 3 Leads List of Oscar Eligible Songs Unveiled by Academy

Variety has reported the 49 eligible songs that are in the running for Oscar nominations.The list includes 11 tracks from 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year' and three from 'Repo! The Genetic Opera.' Members of the Academy's music branch will vote on the final nomination list at a Jan. 6 screening event. 'MILK', 'BUTTON' Nominated For 8 Critics Choice Awards

'Milk' and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' were both nominated for eight Critics Choice Awards.
Both were among the 10 films nominated for best picture. 'Milk,' was also nominated for lead actor Sean Penn, supporting co-stars James Franco and James Brolin and director Gus Van Sant. 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' which opens Christmas Day, has Brad Pitt nominated for best actor, supporting nominations for Cate Blanchett and Taraji P. Henson.

Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and 'American Idol' finalist Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray) will star in the new Broadway production of GODSPELL. The first Broadway revival of the landmark rock musical will officially open on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Previews will begin on Monday, September 29, 2008.
